~*~Gym Class Confession

"Alright! Pair up for your physical fitness tests. And no cheating this year," Mrs. Waltz said, eyeing me up suspiciously.

"That wasn't my fault! I didn't know it was eight laps!" I shot back, brushing some of my hair off of my shoulder.

"Whatever, Ferie! Just get a partner and, start your test!" It was Mr. Friel who said this, trying to diffuse the tension that was bristling between his female counterpart and I.

"Come on, Becky-ah. I'll be your partner." Zelo said, resting his hand on my shoulder. I smiled up at him.

Himchan must have gotten to his hair this morning because it was gelled into little spikes and waves all over his head. There was a little piece that was falling down though so, being the wonderful friend that I am, I brushed it into place for him.

"Mwo, Becky-ah?!" He ducked his head, a bright pink blush staining his cheeks.

"Oh calm down, it was just a loose hair. I fixed it." I said, bumping my shoulder against his arm. "Come on, let's go outside."

He walked with me out onto the track where we ducked around the side of the school. There was a small copse of birch trees that had grown in between the track and the school. That was my destination.

Zelo seemed reluctant to follow me into the shaded area away from the watchful eyes of our teachers so I grabbed a hold of his hand lightly and tugged him along after me. I thought he would pull his hand from mine instantly but he didn't, not that I was complaining. I found the tree I was looking for and reluctantly dropped Zelo's hand.

With both hands free, I started climbing the branches until I found a big, strong branch to sit on. I dangled my legs down and they were a few inches above Zelo's head. He looked up at me, surprised at how quickly I'd scrambled into the tree. "Becky-ah! What are you doing so high? Come down before you fall!" Zelo demanded, eyes filled with worry.

"But Oppa..." I pleaded. "If I get down you'll make me go back. I don't want to go back." I pushed out my lower lip in a pout and I could sense his resolve wavering.

"But, what if you fall?" He asked again. "You could get hurt."

"You won't let me get hurt," I said confidently. There was no doubt in my mind that he would keep me safe. Everything he did was protective. Rarely did he even let me carry my own books anymore. At first I was a bit annoyed, he did all of this for me for no reason, but then I realized it was just his way of showing me he cared about me.

"I'm coming up there." He said suddenly full of determination.

"To bring me down?" I asked suspiciously, ready to dart up further into the tree.

"Aniyo, to hold you in. You keep squirming and it's making me nervous." I watched in amusement as he climbed into the tree after me. I slid over on my branch so he was closest to the trunk and he sat down in place beside me. As soon as he was seated, he put his arm around my waist and pulled me into his side. I peeked at him from the corner of my eye and saw a faint blush on his cheeks.

"Oppa, are you blushing?" I teased, leaning into his side.

"Aniyo. No, no. It's from the climb..." He said, trying to cover his embarrassment.

"Is it really?" I asked, bemused by his shy nature. "So this doesn't bother you?" I asked, snuggling my head into the crook of his neck.

"Becky-ah!" Zelo said surprised at my breath on his skin.

"So it does bother you?" I asked, pulling away to get a better look at him. I caught a faint sight of his scarlet cheeks before he pulled my head back into him.

"No, it just... surprised me is all." He was trying to maintain his manly composure as we sat in a comfortable silence together. After a few minutes of the silence he turned his head to me. "Becky-ah... C-can I tell you something?"

"Of course, Oppa." I said, surprised at his serious tone.

"Well... since I've moved here we've become very close. And... I think that well..."

"What is it, Oppa?" I asked, butterflies assaulting my stomach.

"I wanted you to know that I like you. A lot." He said, pulling back to gauge my reaction.

"Really?" I asked, my heart swelling to the point where I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"Yeah... I-uhm... I've wanted to tell you for a while now but I didn't really know how." His cheeks were flaming scarlet again and I was amazed at how handsome he was in that moment. The sun was peeking through the leaves of the birch trees and dancing on his pale skin. His dark eyes flicked up to meet mine and for once, he didn't look away. I bit my lower lip excitedly.

"I-I really like you to Oppa. I have since I met you..."

His eyes filled with joy and he smiled a bright smile. "I hope this isn't too soon but, sarangheyo, Becky-ah."

This time it was my turn to blush. "Sarangheyo, Oppa!"

I was surprised when he pressed his lips gently against my cheek. It was a brief and fleeting kiss but when he pulled back his eyes were alight with an emotion I'd never seen reflected in his eyes before. "Can we get down now? I'm afraid of heights..."
