Inspired by walking home...alone...IN THE DARK D: -has panic attack-
--------------------------------------
The noises are too loud
Wind through the trees is someone breathing behind me
The birds in the bushes are people hiding
I quicken my pace
A car pulls out slowly
"Walk faster,
Be ready to run"
They go inside
I turn to quickly and think I see a shadow
My heart is erratic
My pulse to fast
Breath, in out
I can see the lights of my house
But what was that noise?
Resists the urge to turn quickly
Glance over me shoulder, see nothing
A twig snaps loudly
My composure breaks
Spin fast, search for the source of the noise
Hyperventilate
Suddenly I'm thrown into panic
On the edge where hallucinations and reality blend
I look down
There's a broken twig beneath my feet...
--------------------------------------------------
Okay so this is why I never walk home alone, or anywhere in the dark ESPECIALLY if I'm by myself. I am WAY to paranoid to do things like that. And yes I actually did freak out because I heard a twig break and I was the one who stepped on it.
