Andrew's Pov

We walked along a simple trail where joggers would run in the morning. The night is cold and the moon is shining bright across the night sky. The moonlight was just enough to see the path and the beautiful forest around us. We stop at a little bridge and sit, I was enjoying the view of the wilderness, Emily rests her head on my shoulder.

"Do you have those missing pieces Andrew?"

I rub her hand with my thumb, "I don't have the missing pieces Em, but I promise I'll help you find the one's you're looking for".

She waffles my hand, "I guess we can find those missing pieces together then?"

I kiss her hand, "I'm sure that together we'll find the pieces we're looking for".

She looked deep into my eyes, as if she was trying to find her favorite part of a book. I lean towards her, feeling her hand grip as she takes a deep breath, are lips meet in a kiss that I'll never forget, her lips were soft. They were tingling, I'm not sure if it was because it was cold or if she was nervous. I know I was.

My body shakes like if I was a little kid walking in the dark. She pulls away and smiles, "I'm guessing you are as nervous as I am". I chuckled and rubbed her cheek, "I'm actually very nervous". We kiss again enjoying each stroke of each other's lip.

After that we locked eyes for awhile, searching for a glimpse of doubt, but there was only hope in her eyes. I bet her mind was full of questions as was mine, it's an absolute mystery what goes on in another person's mind.

She smiles, "I will forever enjoy this moment, even if it probably won't last forever, this moment will".

I stand up and help her up from the ground, "don't worry about forever, it's to far away. Focus on today while it's right in front of you".

She checks her watch, "can you walk me to my room? I have a private session early in the morning".

I grab her by the hand and we walked to her room, she rubbed her eyes and yawned. I could tell she was tired, "goodnight Emily, sweet dreams". I would've said something so much more but that's the only thing that came through my mind.

She gave me a hug "goodnight Andrew".

I went in for a kiss but she turned her head and looked down at her feet, "I'm sorry Andrew, everything was great tonight, it's just....I need a little time to process everything".

The classic line, I understand. Maybe she's overwhelmed by everything that's going on, "I understand Em, take your time". She goes in her room "thanks Andrew". I smile as she shuts the door.

In a way I was thinking in my head, did I fuck up? Now I have to go to bed with that question in my head, fuck.

I tossed and turned the whole night, sinceI couldn't sleep I decided to browse Facebook, while I was looking at funny pictures and whatnot, I came across something that made me search deeper into it.

I wanted to make sure that my hunch was right. And it was, now it's time to make a decision, to act on it or to leave it be. I'm not the type of person who leaves things unfinished so I decided to act.

The next morning I woke up, just like any other day. I went and ate breakfast, read a book and chilled by the pool. I get a text on my phone.

?: I'm almost there. I'll be arriving in a half hour.

A: Great, thank you for coming, I really appreciate this.

?: Thank you Andrew, you don't know how much this means to me. Text you when I get there.

A: ok

It was 11am, I had to go and get ready.  I put a nice button shirt on and dark jeans, hell I even slicked my hair back. I got the flowers out of the vase, I picked them early in the morning from the woods. They were a combination of white and yellow daisys.

They aren't as complex like roses but they are simple and yet so beautiful. I walk over to the front gate, I waited patiently for about 15 minutes. I was staring at a small pigeon admiring his reflection from a puddle. Then another pigeon joined the other making one reflection of it's own.

A car pulled up in front of me.

"Andrew?"

I nodded my head "that's me".

"Great let me park my car".

I received a hug and a thank you.

I said "it's my pleasure".

I handed the flowers that I picked to the person.

"What are these for?"

I gesture the person inside the center, "you'll see".

I lead the person to the garden area, "wait here, I'll be right back".

I went to get Emily from her session, she was almost done by now. She was taking with Thomas in the hallway. She spotted me and immediately looked down at her feet, "hey Andrew,  what are you doing here?"

I gesture her towards me, "I have a surprise for you". She looked confused, "what?"

I take a deep breath, "just trust me, follow me".

Thomas and Emily followed me to the garden. When we got there Emily said, "ugh Andrew what is the big surprise?"

"Actually there is someone here to see you".

That's when my guest turned around.

Emily stood there in disbelief, "Dad?"

Emily rushes over to her father and gives him a big hug. He hands her the flowers, "here these are for you".

Tears stream down Emily's face, "they are beautiful, how did you find me?"

Emily's father wipes his tears, "actually your friend Andrew helped me out, he saw an add that I put online for my smoothie parlor near his neighborhood".

Emily was in shock, she looked at me then hugged her father once more, "I've always thought you moved to a different state".

Her father answered "I did for awhile, but I knew I wanted to be close to you, I tried calling your mother a couple of times to see if I could spend time with you but she sent a restraining order out on me".

I excused myself "I'm sure you two have so much to talk about, I'll give you guys some alone time".

Emily comes over and hugs me, "thank you so much Andrew, you don't know how much this means to me".

I rub her hand, "you're welcome Emily".

Me and Thomas left them alone, he pats me on the back, "that was really nice of you Andrew, your potential keeps on growing day by day".

I put my hands in my pockets, "I just like being nice, it makes people happy while I'm happy".

Thomas nods his head,"good make sure that happiness lasts, pretty soon you guys will be out of here and you need to hold on and keep that positive energy. You've came a very long way".

I say, "It's a scary feeling, going back out there. Leaving everyone behind here, back to the same life we tried to leave behind".
