Spring in Montana is odd. One day it is beautiful and sixty and the next day it snows. I hate cold weather but days spent inside with Scarlett are my favorite days. She is officially all moved in with me and I couldn't be happier. I had to laugh as we brought her stuff over.
"How much makeup does one girl need? Especially when you look perfect without it?" I laugh.
"Shh it's my thing, okay. I like makeup." She shrugs.
Luckily we have two bathrooms because her girl stuff takes up the whole counter and two shelves she brought over.
As much as I tease her, I love having her here. We do laundry together, dishes, and even cook. I never thought playing house could be so fun; especially when I watch her cook wearing only my white t-shirt. That prompted our fist time making love on the island. I can't seem to get enough of her.
"Penny for your thoughts?" She pulls me back to reality as she comes through the door with some bags full of groceries.
"I was thinking about you naked." I shrug. "I would have came with you if I knew you were going to the store." I say standing to help put stuff away.
"It was impromptu after Karianne and I left the gym. I was thinking about making some honey garlic shrimp and steamed veggies." She smiles at my scrunched up face and pulls out a pack of steaks. "And some steaks. Sheesh what do you take me for?" She giggles.
"You're the best." I wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck.
"Gross, I'm all nasty from the gym still."
"Your sweat tastes sweet." I say kissing her neck again.
"No it's doesn't!" She laughs and moves away.
"Mmm it really does." I laugh and put the eggs away.
She shakes her head and moves a piece of hair out of her face. I notice her arm. "Your arm is healing up nicely." I say and grab it to inspect in front of me.
"It feels pretty good." She frowns. "I guess my name is pretty fitting though."
"Don't say that." I pull her into my arms. "I love you, scars and all."
"I know. I love you, too. " She says and smiles.
The rest of the night we cook dinner, talk, play some video games, and after a shower, I get to make love to the woman who has my heart.Weeks fly by as April starts to come to an end.
"Are you getting nervous?" I ask Brett.
"No. I can't wait to marry Kare." He smiles as we get fitted for our suits. He asked me to be his best man and I couldn't be happier. I know we have become close, but I was concerned he would want someone he had known longer to fill this spot, but he told me I have been the best friend he has ever had, besides Scarlett, so I accepted instantly.
"I'm happy for you, man." I say and smack his shoulder."
"You'll be next." He smiles.
"I hope so." I smile and look at us in the mirror. "Damn we are some handsome sons of bitches!" I laugh.
"I wonder how the girls look in their dresses." He says and we look at each other.
"Well they always look beautiful, but dammit I feel like you are going to cry when you see Karianne and I will probably have to be restrained from getting Scar out of her dress." We both laugh.
"I'm happy for you both." Brett says. "I was worried about her for a long time. She was pretty broken." He shakes his head. "You want the best for your friends, ya know. I'm just glad she has you."
"Come on now, you're gonna make us both cry." I smile. "I appreciate it, though. I can't imagine my life without her."
"I know what you mean." He says.
After our fitting we go grab some lunch together. The girls have a day planned so we are heading to a movie next. I love spending time with Scarlett, but it's pretty nice having a guys day with my best friend.
However, I can't stop wondering what our girls are up to.
