***~Marie's POV~***
My head aching when I finally woke up. As soon as my eyes opened though they darted to take in my surroundings. I was in a small flat that had a desk, table, two chairs, a trunk, a sink, and the small bed I was lying on. Nothing about this room was familiar and I began to panic as the previous night's events came flooding back to me. I remembered arguing with my father and running away, then there were the three men who had attacked me and the streak of red I'd seen before slipping into darkness. Where was I now though?I couldn't help but wince as I sat up in the bed and spotted my things on the floor but instead of reaching for them my hand went to my neck. I felt relieved when I felt the small golden ring hanging from the chain but it didn't last long as I heard voices from outside the room. Through my pain I got up to my feet and nimbly made my way over to the corner so I was hidden by the desk. Just as I sat down behind the desk I heard the door creak open followed by a few different footsteps entering the room.
"Where did she go?" I heard a woman ask with concern in her voice as they spotted the empty bed.
"The window's still shut." A familiar voice spoke as I glanced to see the closed window next to the bed. I silently scolded myself for not spotting the escape before. From the crack between the desk and the wall I took in the faces. There were three men and a woman that looked about my age. I didn't recognize her and one of the men but the other two faces were familiar, it was Marius and Enjolras and I realized it'd been Marius who'd mentioned the window. Before I could pull my gaze from the crack my eyes locked with Enjolras' brown ones that seemed relieved at the sight of me.
"There she is," Enjolras nodded in my direction and I could see the others relax just as he had hen he'd spotted me.
"What are you doing down there?" the unfamiliar man asked me as he sat a case down on the table.
"I didn't recognize the room." I realized I was in Enjolras room from the afternoon before. I slowly stood to my feet again only to feel pain radiate through me. The woman hurried over to my side and helped me over to the bed. I took in her slim figure and long brown hair with matching brown eyes. She was beautiful.
"I'm Ephonie," she introduced herself as the strange man started to look me over. "This is Nicholi, he's a doctor."
"There is just bad bruising," Nicholi informed me with a smile. "You'll be sore for a while but your recovery should be quick."
"Mercy," I thanked him as he whispered something to Enjolras before ducking out the door with his case in hand.
"There is breakfast downstairs," Enjolras informed me. "We'll leave you to get dressed but you should be quick if you'd like cheese, Courfeyrac always goes for it."
"Mercy Mousier," I gave a small nod as he and Marius left so it was just Ephione and I with her staring after Marius. As soon as the door shut though she broke from her trance and looked back at me.
"Take this," she pulled a dress off the end of the bag and tossed it to me before pulling some of my undergarments out of my bag and tossed them to me as well. With her help I pulled off my torn dress and undergarments and pulled on the fresh ones before pulling on the dress she'd given me. It was a dark green one that went to the floor and sleeves that reached my elbows. I kept the ring hanging around my neck and pulled my hair from the mess of my bun from the day before and allowed the wavy curls to fall to my shoulders.
"You look stunning!" Ephonie looked at me in awe as she helped me slip on some silver slippered before we slowly headed downstairs where I could hear people talking. As we grew closer I recognized Marius' voice and was able to make out some of his words.
