August 5. Music Festival.

That is written on my calendar for today's agenda. I'm working a booth at it selling KPop albums. It's to spread the Korean vibe and get money. Hopefully I can catch the eye of some other KPop fans. During breaks I can go around looking at other booths. I'm quite excited for this day to start.

I head off very early to set up. When I get there I set up a tent with a table underneath. I set up the albums alphabetically. Then I sit on a chair just waiting. I look around staring at the other booths around me. There is a karaoke booth set up to the right of me. To my left there is a booth for an entertainment company to scout out singers and dancers. In front of me I see a band. They are just a local high school band where all of the students go to my school.

I snap out of my trance when I see someone coming towards my booth. He picks up an album...I can tell from the back that it is an Exo album. The Chinese version of the Mama one. Yep, I'm a fangirl, crazy to some, normal to others.

"How much does this cost?"

"Fifteen dollars."

He hands me the money and then asks for a Sharpie. He signs the cover and hands it to me.

"For you..."

I am confused. What just happened? Like, legit.

He takes off his sunglasses. Of course. It's Tao. What in the world.

We talk for about half an hour before he says he has to leave. Before he leaves he gives me his phone number.

"It was great talking and connecting with you _____. I'll talk to you later."

That was a very magical day and we have been together for 2 years now. Tao is such a gentleman who is super funny and caring. I'm not exaggerating when I say those things because he lives up to them. Through each moment and struggle we saw the light and stayed together.

My phone starts ringing but I ignore it. I am so engrossed in creating a project for class. Then I start getting many texts and I start to get calls again.

5 missed calls. 3 from one of my best friends and 2 from Tao.

14 texts. 10 from my best friend and 4 from Tao.

Friend: _____, quick check the news!

Friend: _____, do you hear?!

Friend: Listen!!!! Do you know what is freakin' happening?!

Friend: I know you don't watch the news but you need to see for yourself!

Tao: I'm so sorry.

Friend: ANSWER!!

Tao: It's okay to ignore me.

Friend: Are you okay?!

Tao: I screwed up big time. I know. You can ignore me, hate me, listen to me. Whatever you want.

Friend: You are a priority of mine! It hurts me to know that you are not answering me!

Tao: I probably can't say sorry enough to make you feel different.

Friend: I'm sorry you have to go through this!

Friend: I'm so worried now!

Friend: Okay, I'll give you space.

I check the news to find what exactly this is. It must be pretty bad to hurt me.

News Reporter: It has been seen that Tao from the Korean band Exo has been sighted with someone other than his girlfriend. He also has hurt his band by being sighted singing with an underground band. It has been reported that these things were unknown until today. This information has been told by some really dedicated fans.

*More like saesang fans.* I think.

And I guess it was confirmed true because Tao was apologizing before. What a pity. He's a good person. The questions are...

I text Tao and say, "Be at the spot in 5 minutes."

Our special spot is at the end of the bike path of the Han River.

We walk up to each other and stare into each others eyes.

"I can't. I just can't. I can't accept your apologies. I can't support you. At least right at the moment. Why? How?"

"The stress made me do drugs. Or I made myself do those things. And I got drunk. Then I was under the influence and did horrid things."

A silence falls over us for a moment. It's so odd.

"Good-bye Tao."

"I love you _____."

I walk away without looking back.
