"We're Back"
Angeline couldn't deny she was sad to say goodbye. Not just to Maddy but to Roxbury her father. She was glad he offered to take them to the airport. The two girls sat in back spending what little time they had with each other. Angeline smiled as she looked into the side view mirror and saw Sabrina kissing away Maddy's tears she wasn't sure what kind of relationship the girls shared, but she knew one thing they made each other happy. At least for the time being.
"How much longer will you be in Europe?" Roxbury asked. The question was a simple one. If he would have asked her that question her first few weeks of being there she would have said when her semester aboard was over, but now she had Carson. Would she stay with him? She thought. Looking at her father she answered.
"Well I guess I'm not sure. I've grown fond of the country. Plus I think moms got herself someone to keep her company." she said looking a head as the airport signs appeared.
Roxbury couldn't fathom losing his touch with his daughter after just finding out he had one. Only for her to leave. He was going to make sure he talked to her as much as he could. He also knew that he was making an unannounced visit to Sophia. She had lots of explaining to do. Roxbury pulled up at the drop off area he shut off the engine helping the girls with their bags.
"Thanks so much for the lift Roxbury, I guess I'll hear from you soon regarding my photos?" Maddy said unsure of whether to shake his hand or give him a hug, but Sabrina made it less awkward by jumping in and wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Of course he'll call you! thanks again for everything Roxbury take care of my girl." she said Roxbury hugged her back followed by Maddy.
"You two take care, and Maddy you'll hear from me sooner than you think." Roxbury said winking at both girls as they picked up their bags giving him time to say goodbye to his daughter. He turned to Angeline and admired her this was his daughter she was apart of him. He swallowed the lump in his throat pulling Angeline into his arms.
"I'm going to miss you sweetie, we've gotten to know each other over the past few days and I feel like I've known you all my life. I hope to see you soon."
Angeline hugged her father tight she took in his scent as the tears fell down her face. "I'm going to miss you too daddy." Roxbury loved his new name his daughter had given him. When they pulled away he handed her an envelop and place a kiss on her forehead.
"Call me as soon as you land." She nodded as they parted ways making their way to the terminals. Again Angeline's heartache knowing she would be saying goodbye to Maddy. She turned to her friend and with saying a word to each other they hugged each other tight.
"Thanks for everything Angie, these past few days have been the best and thank you for bringing Sabrina." Maddy watched Sabrina from the corner of her eye she was really going to miss her new friend.
"I'll call you." Angeline said as her and Sabrina's fight was called. They said one last goodbye and they were heading back to Spain. She couldn't help but a nervous feeling in her tummy about seeing Carson again.
"So what is the plan when we land? Are you going to run to your Romeo?" Angeline's eyes nearly popped out of her head as she stared at Sabrina with a mischievous smile on her face.
"Don't look at me like that amiga, I've seen the change in my father since you've been around. He's happy. I can't be sure if it's the fact that my mother has left the face of the earth or you." Sabrina winked at Angeline as the heat rose to her cheeks. As odd as it will be seeing her father date a girl her age and her friend for that matter. Sabrina hasn't felt this kind of love in her home in a while and she can only hope Angeline decides to stay in Europe.
