"Ah, another Malfoy. What to do with this one? Another Death Eater, perhaps? Or maybe... something else?" A voice sneered. Aquila slowly opened her eyes to see a dark jail cell, and a cloaked figure standing outside it. She tried to move but found that she was chained to a wall.
"Who are you? Where am I?" She demanded, her voice strong and unwavering. The figure smirked.
"Ooh, you're a feisty one. And where you are? Use your brain. I can tell you're going to put up a fight- unlike your brother. Both of you are fools- too trusting, too... caring. It sickens me. And to answer one of your questions, I'm-" She wasn't able to hear what the person said as she woke up.
"What the Hell?!" Aquila yelled as she sat up quickly, scaring Draco half to death.
"WHAT HAPPENED? WHO DO I HAVE TO KILL?!" He asks in all seriousness. She chuckled a bit and shook her head.
"Nobody. At least, not yet anyway... and nothing happened, just a creepy awful dream. Don't worry about it." She said to calm him down. He shoots her a 'we'll talk about this later' look and Aquila nodded. He settles back into his seat, which he had hopped up from when she woke up.
"So," Aquila said, trying to make conversation, "anything happen while I was out?"
"Yeah, actually. One of the Weasels came shortly after you fell asleep and was just, like, staring at you. I didn't like it. I shooed him away and he came back with his twin, it was very unsettling, those two, anyway, they started talking about us being, and I quote, 'pure-blooded pricks'." Draco says, and she scowled.
"The Weasel twins... oh, the pranksters, right?" She asked, trying to figure out which ones they were- there were just way too many. Draco nodded.
"Yeah, the pranksters. Honestly, how they haven't been expelled yet is beyond me." He snickered. Aquila smirked- bad talking blood-traitors always put her in a better mood.
"What house do you think we'll be in?" Draco asked after he had finished ranting about the Weasels. She looked him straight in the eye, give him a Malfoy eye roll, and smirked.
"I have no clue, brother. I wonder which one... hm, maybe, I dunno, Slytherin?" She sneered. Draco rolled his eyes.
"I was just asking. No need to be so moody." He responded, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Aw, is wittle Drakey wakey mad?"
"Shut up, Aquila." She just snickered and smirked. Before she could answer, though, the train came to a stop and she gave Draco an excited glance.
"We've got to get our robes on!" Aquila exclaimed while facepalming. She grabbed her chest and furiously searched through it. "There you are!" She yelled after she finds her robes. Draco rolled his eyes, but she just pushed past him and out the door, heading straight to the bathroom to change. As she started walking back to the compartment, she tripped on her feet but was caught by strong arms. Aquila caught her balance, then turned around to thank her savior.
"Thank y-" Her eyes grew wide, then narrowed as she realized who had saved her. "Weasel?"
"Malfoy?" He said at the same time. They both scowled at each other, and she wiggled her body out of his grasp. She gave him an Oscar worthy glare and ran back to the compartment.
"What took so long, Aquila? Couldn't fit into your robes?" Draco teased, but after seeing her distressed look, his eyes narrowed. "What happened?" He demanded.
"The bloody Weasel happened! As I was walking out of the bathroom I tripped and he caught me- the Weasel, the bloody blood traitor- caught me." Aquila explained in a disgusted tone. "I'm going to have to cleanse myself!" She added for dramatic effect. Draco just looked absolutely disgusted.
"That bloody Weasel! Touching my sister... he'll have Hell to pay!" He growled menacingly. Normally she would calm him down, but Weasel deserved what was coming to him.
"Yes, he does. But know we have to get off the train before it leaves again!" She said, grabbing her trunk and ushering Draco out. As they stepped onto the platform, she looked at Hogwarts for the first time. It was beautiful- it's castle-like structure sticking out and blending in with the environment at the same time. Aquila was standing there in awe, not moving, and Draco had to push her along.
"It looks amazing, doesn't it?" Draco asked.
"Yeah- I didn't expect it to look so cool. I mean, I knew it was cool, but not, like, castle cool!" she said smartly while Draco chuckles at her stupidity.
"Y'know, you may be smart, but you're not very eloquent."
"Just because I'm smart doesn't mean I have to be a good speaker. Just like because you're tall doesn't mean you're clumsy. Intelligence isn't determined by how well one speaks," she lectured, and he grimaced.
"I was bloody joking, Aquila!" He exclaims.
"I know," she smirked. He frowned at her and they continued walking towards who they assumed were the other first years- young, awed, and didn't look like they knew where in the world they were going. They were crowding around a huge man with long brown hair and a long beard.
"Is that who father said was... Haggy? The half-giant?" Aquila whispered to her brother.
"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the oaf's name is Hagrid," he whispered back.
"That makes more sense." She agreed, and they walked over there. A few people in the crowd stuck out- a girl with brown bushy hair, the bloody Weasel, a chubby boy with black hair, and a tall skinny boy who also had black hair.
"Is tha' ev'ry one?" Hagrid asked the group. Draco and Aquila nodded, even though they had absolutely no clue. "Alrigh' then. Follow me to the boats, then." They all surged forward to follow the half-giant, walking towards a huge black lake. Aquila looked at Draco who looked sick. She gave him a reassuring pat on the back. He may have a tiny fear of water.
"It's alright Draco, I'll be right here. Besides, if anything happens I'll spell the water for you," she winked, trying to calm him down. He gave her a grateful nod and a small smile.
"Have fun with that," he retorts, and she rolled my eyes.
"Into tha' boats! Only four 'n one!" Hagrid yelled over the excited chatter. Draco took Aquila's hand and led them to a boat. They walked on and the boat wobbled but stabilized after a bit. She sat down next to Draco and waited for more people to come on so that they could enter the school. After a while, two people walked on, a boy and a girl. The girl had a bob of black hair, and she was looking at Draco like he was the one giving her the air she breathed. Aquila gagged and Draco looked revolted by her. The boy, on the other hand, was looking between Draco and Aquila, probably wondering if he was seeing double. Draco looked at Aquila, and Aquila at him, and they both inwardly facepalmed. This was gonna be a long boat ride.
