After Aquila's secret came out, she felt so much better without having anything to hide. Although everything was going alright, Remus was stressing. The full moon was soon, and he was dreading it. Last month was particularly easy, as he didn't really do anything besides stalk around the Forbidden Forest. Aquila saw her friend's apprehensiveness and immediately knew what was wrong. He had been feeling sick lately, meaning that a full moon had to be happening soon.
"Hey, Remus, want to come to the library with me? We can read and just relax." Aquila offered, looking at Remus. They were currently sitting the common room, and classes had just ended. Remus looked up and shrugged. He honestly didn't feel like doing anything, but he knew Aquila was just trying to help, and he appreciated it, so he couldn't say no.
"Alright. I have to study for my History of Magic quiz anyway." Remus agreed. Aquila smiled and grabbed his hand, dragging him to the library. Quickly sitting down at an empty table, she got the stack of books she had chosen earlier that week to read, and set them on the table. Remus sat there wide eyed.
"I found these earlier, and I had Mrs. Pince save them for me." Aquila explained, grabbing one off the top and opening it. Remus just chuckled and grabbed one that seemed interesting.
Sirius and James were wandering around the halls, looking for their next victim. They had a new prank to tryout, but nobody to try it out on. Lurking around the Slytherin common room, Sirius was hoping to find an unsuspecting first year, or at least something along those lines. As they heard the portrait open, James shot Sirius a grin, which Sirius mirrored. Moving quickly and quietly, James lifted up the bucket of enchanted chocolate frogs, preparing to drop them. As they heard the footsteps approach, Sirius dumped the bucket while James started running. High fiving, Sirius and James' eyes widened when they heard a voice cursing.
"Bloody Hell! Mugglerfu-" Lucius was cut off by a frog jumping onto his head. He let out an unmanly squeal and rubbed his hands over his head, trying to shoo it away. That didn't work, as it only attracted more of the frogs. Sirius and James didn't bother to look behind them as they bolted for the Gryffindor common room.
"How do you like that book, Rem- what the Hell did you two do?" Aquila demanded, looking up from her book and seeing the two smug faces of James and Sirius. Sirius shrugged while James whistled and looked everywhere but at Aquila. Remus rolled his eyes and turned the page, smartly choosing to stay out of the conversation.
"I have no clue what you're talking about," Sirius said, ignoring the look Aquila gave him. He knew that if he looked he would spill everything, and he didn't want to do that- for his sake and Aquila's.
"Yeah, we didn't do anything," James backed up. Aquila narrowed her eyes suspiciously but didn't pursue the argument, to the relief of James and Sirius.
"I don't believe that for a second. Anyway, Remus, as I was trying to ask before I was rudely interrupted, how do you like the book?" Aquila questioned, looking at the boy curiously. Remus looked up and smiled.
"It's awesome. Do you remember that textbook we had in first year, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?" After seeing Aquila's nod, he continued, "well this is by the same author, but another volume, this one including information all about werewolves." Aquila made an 'oh' face and nodded in understanding.
"Sounds cool. Anything useful?" Aquila asked, genuinely curious. Remus shrugged.
"Nothing I didn't already know, so not really." He responded. James patted his shoulder and Sirius smiled apologetically.
"That just means you're an expert," Sirius said, trying to brighten the mood. Remus gave a small chuckle and Aquila smiled.
"I second that. I mean, Aquila may know Transfiguration, History of Magic, Herbology, Potions, and D.A.D.A., but you wanna know what you'll always beat her in? Werewolf knowledge." James added, ignoring the glare Aquila sent him. Sirius punched his shoulder, sending Aquila an apologetic shrug. She just laughed and waved a hand.
"I'd argue that point, but it's unfortunately true. And, while we're on the topic of werewolves, when's the next full moon?" Aquila asked the dreaded question. Everyone wanted to know, but nobody wanted to ask it for fear of being considered rude. James gave her a 'what the Hell are you doing' look, while Sirius just shook his head. To everyone's surprise, Remus just smiled sadly.
"Wednesday," Remus answered. Aquila nodded and started planning, getting that faraway look in her eye that usually meant that she was scheming. Sirius was quick to notice and shushed James and Remus, knowing she needed her quiet to be able to plan accordingly.
"Alright, princess, we know you love her but honestly can you tone down the love fest when others are around?" James said, earning a glare from Sirius.
"Shut it, James. You're just mad because Lily isn't here," Sirius shot back, but then quieted down when he remembered Aquila. James went to argue but found that Sirius was right, so he just shut his mouth and picked up Aquila's forgotten book, surprising both Remus and Sirius. Rolling his eyes, James found that the book was actually quite interesting. It was about muggle history, and how they botched everything they tried to do. It was a short while later when Aquila suddenly jumped up, scaring the boys. She quickly sent a wave and ran away, most likely to get something for her plan. James and Remus looked at Sirius for an answer, but he just shrugged and went back to copying Remus' notes from Transfiguration.
"Lily! If one were to, theoretically, sneak into Hogsmeade, how would one do it?" Aquila asked upon entering her shared dorm. Lily looked up from her work, surprised.
"Well, they would probably use the kitchen exit, right outside the Hufflepuff common room. Why?" Lily answered. Aquila just shrugged.
"No reason. Thanks!" She answered, quickly exiting the room to get what she needed. Lily watched, curious, as her friend walked out of the room. Too loyal to ask what she was doing, Lily just went back to her work.
