"Miss Underwood, in the case of your tutor, I have assigned Miss Lily Evans. She's a fellow Gryffindor and very bright. I believe Mr. Potter is familiar with her." Professor Dumbledore explained to the girl. James Potter nodded his head vigorously.

"Yeah, I know her." He blushed red as a tomato, and Aquila smirked knowingly.

"Good, so you can show Miss Underwood to her. I've already alerted McGonagall and she has graciously allowed you two, Miss Underwood and Miss Evans, to use her classroom to study after dinner during the week." The Professor smiled.

"I'll be sure to thank her when I next see her," Aquila assured the older man.

"I know you will. Mr. Potter, Miss Underwood, I hope you have a good night. Miss Underwood, if you need any help, my doors are always open." He told the young witch. She gave him a small smile and walked out with James yet again.

"So, Potter, you fancy Evans, don't you?" Aquila teased the boy, smirking all the while. James blushed and Aquila smiled in victory. "Knew it. It was so obvious when Dumbledore mentioned her name and you went red like a tomato!"

"I did not!" James claimed, but Aquila simply rolled her eyes.

"And I'm not from the future," she retorted, "now, take me to your girlfriend." Now it was James' turn to roll his eyes and he did so, but still led Aquila back to the common room, though she was fully capable of doing it herself.

"And then, Sirius decided it would be funny to prank Snape, a Slytherin in our year, but Lily came and protected him, something about him 'being her friend' or something like that, it was ridiculous. Anyway-" James was cut off from finishing his story when they had walked into the common room and came face to face to face with a redheaded petite girl who had green eyes and a fiery determination about her.

"Hi, I'm Lily, and you must be Aquila! I'm your tutor!" The girl exclaimed happily. James just about melted, and Aquila smiled brightly.

"Yeah, that's me! Hi, Lily, thank you so much for helping me." Aquila said sincerely. Nobody's ever done anything like that for her out of pure kindness, only if they were forced to by her parents. Lily flashed a huge smile.

"Of course! I hope you like it here! It's great, very friendly people! Well, most of the time..." At this, she shot a pointed look towards James, who ducked his head in shame and blushed.

"James! Don't tell me you're bad!" Aquila exclaimed while she narrowed her eyes in his direction.

"Heh, depends on what you consider to be bad, per se..." He tried defending himself. Lily got a look on her face and before Aquila knew what was going on, she stood up and got in front of James.

"'It depends'? Tell me, Aquila, do you consider pranking innocent people, kind people, just for laughs?" Lily exploded, and Aquila shrank a bit in fear and shock.

"No, it's not okay..." Aquila whispered quietly. Though she had no right to speak, she'd done worse things, hurt people worse. Lily turned back to a smirking and blushing James, but she didn't notice it, only continued standing there in front of him.

"See! It's not funny to prank people like that!" She said, and Aquila couldn't help but smile at them.

"You know, Lily pad, you could've just said you wanted to be this close to me. I would've happily obliged." James said cheekily, throwing another boyish grin at Lily. Aquila couldn't take it anymore, she burst out laughing at Lily's horrified face and James' triumphant face.

"Y-you guys a-are adorable! T-that was hilarious!" She said as she started calming down after the look Lily shot her. Aquila shot her an apologetic look, and Lily sighed.

"I'm sorry, James. I shouldn't have exploded like that. Now, Aquila, come with me! We're sharing a dorm!" Lily apologized, then smiled brightly, and took a grinning Aquila by the arm, dragging her up to the common room. "Here it is! It's small, yes, but I prefer to call it cozy." Aquila grinned.

"It's awesome. I'm excited that we're roommates! Is anyone else here?" Aquila inquired, and Lily shook her head.

"Nope! Just us; the other girl moved out because she didn't like me. Oh well, I don't care, it's not like I was trying to please her or anything." She shrugged. Aquila gave her a pat on the shoulder and a smile.

"She doesn't know what she's missing. Now, when's dinner?" Lily gave her a bright smile and took her hand again, taking her back down to the common room and out the door. They walked towards the Great Hall, but before they could, Lily said she needed to meet someone.

"In a few minutes. Oh, before I forget, do you have your wand? I know you need robes and books, but I wasn't sure if you had a wand."

"I do, right here. It's veela hair core, acacia wood, 11 and a quarter inches." Aquila proudly states, then chuckled at Lily's amazed look.

"That's so cool! Veela hair, huh? I've never heard of a wand like that! Oh, here we are!" Lily exclaimed. Aquila gave a confused look and looked around. They were in a dark corridor, lit only with torches.

"Uhm, where's here?" She asked, and Lily chuckled.

"This," Lily started, "is the entrance to the Slytherin common room!" Aquila's eyes widened in shock.

     "R-really?" She squeaked. Lily nodded.

"Yup. Now wait here, I'm going to get a friend." Aquila was very confused at that point. Weren't Gryffindors and Slytherins supposed to be enemies? As Aquila waited, she started getting more and more wary that something was going to happen. As if on cue, multiple people walked out of the common room.

"Where do you think you're going, blood traitor?" A cold and heartless voice sneered. Aquila shivered as she knew that voice. Her future Father, Lucius Malfoy.

"He doesn't have to answer you, Malfoy." A girl spat, most likely Lily.

"I don't believe I was talking to you, mudblood." Aquila was terrified at that point, but she pushed it down and started to slowly walk away, hoping to make her way back upstairs. Unfortunately, she tripped and fell, and three pairs of eyes met her tormented silver ones. Lucius stared down at her, a look of disgust on his face. "Oh, how lovely, the new girl is here. Another blood traitor." Lily clenched her fists, but a tall, black haired boy held her arm, and she reluctantly relaxed. The boy shot Aquila a sad look as if to say sorry.

"Malfoy, we haven't done anything. I just picked up my friend. Now go away before I get a teacher!" Lily threatened, and Lucius chuckled in amusement.

"That's cute, the mudblood thinks she can threaten me. You! Underwood, is it? You're hanging with the wrong crowd. Although you're a Gryffindor, so I suppose you're already on the wrong side, but I'm willing to give you a chance to hang with me and my friends." Lucius offered, holding out his hand, and Aquila had deja vu from when Draco had done the same to Harry days ago. Aquila had to admit, she was tempted. She could have what her father always wanted her to have: a chance to be great. Lily was a mudblood, after all. Below her in every way. But was she? Dumbledore himself said that she was very bright, and Aquila knew what she did in the future for Harry; that took courage to stand up to the Dark Lord like that. Her mental debate was interrupted when she took a look towards Lily's angry face and the other boy, and her mind was made.

"I think I can see the wrong sort for myself, thanks. Lily, let's go." Aquila said with her head held high. Lily's eyes brightened immediately, and she ran to hug her, but not before sticking her tongue out at Lucius, whose eyes were blazing with pure, unbridled rage. Aquila ignored him and grabbed Lily's arm, and headed back upstairs to the Great Hall.
