"Alright, Sirius, I need you to cover me. Distract the house elves while I leave. Follow me as soon as it's clear," Aquila said, watching the door to the kitchen carefully. Sirius nodded and walked into the kitchen, hands in his pockets and whistling nonchalantly.
"Hey, what is one of master's students doing out of bed?" A high pitched voice asked. Sirius walked up to strike up a conversation while Aquila snuck into the kitchen, walking out the door and making her way across the school grounds. Aquila felt exhilarated and terrified at the same time. What was she doing anyway? Breaking school rules was the Marauder's thing, but Remus needed her. She knew how hard his transformations were. She shook the thought out of her head and continued on, making her way to the old shack on the grounds that didn't really serve any purpose other than to be used as a haunted house every year on Halloween. Aquila dodged the tree's branches and entered the old shack, waiting for Sirius. A moment later she heard the door open and close, hopefully meaning Sirius had come.
"Sirius? Up here," Aquila said. Sirius followed her voice up the stairs and found Aquila standing there, looking just as pretty as usual. "All right, here's the plan. We're going to sneak into Hogsmeade and take chocolate from Honeydukes, leaving the money there because we're not thieves, and then sneak back into Hogwarts. Simple!" Sirius chuckled and nodded.
"Sure. Okay, I'm ready, let's go," Sirius said, making his way back outside, leaving Aquila behind to wonder how she had someone like Sirius who literally heard her plan and agreed like that. It just reminded her how much she cared about him.
"Uh, yeah," she said, jumping out of her stupor and quickly following Sirius down the stairs. Getting in front of Sirius, Aquila made her way to Hogsmeade quickly, not waiting to see if Sirius was with her because she knew he was. "Okay, Sirius, I'm going to sneak in through the back, you keep watch, then we're going to-" Aquila was cut off by the sound of a howl. Eyes wide, she turned to Sirius, who had a similar reaction.
"We have to hurry. Come on!" Sirius urged gently. Aquila nodded and spelled the lock, quickly opening the door and taking a few chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's, and leaving the money on the shelf. She got out quickly and Sirius relocked the door, then they hurried back onto school grounds. As soon as they reached the old shack again, did the reality of what they just did hit Aquila and Sirius. Laughing softly, Aquila smiled and held up the bag of sweets. Sirius smiled as well, running a hand through his hair.
"I can't believe I did that! I actually broke into a store..." Aquila mumbled, not quite believing eve though she was there. "I... we broke into Honeyduke's!" Sirius nodded, still smiling.
"Yeah, we did. Merlin's beard, Aquila, we did!" Sirius exclaimed.
"We did, Sirius, we did. Well, that was fun and all, but I think we need to get back to the castle and hope that Remus or the prefects don't catch us." Aquila replied, always planning. Sirius nodded. "Here, hold this," Aquila said, holding out her hand. Sirius raised an eyebrow but took it.
"Why am I holding your hand?" He inquired.
"Because I want you to. Now, focus, I'm going to run and since we're holding hands you need to follow my pace." She shot back, staring straight ahead.
"Right. Well, let's go then." Aquila gave him a quick glance over her shoulder before taking a deep breath and running, Sirius right behind her. They made it to the entrance they left out of, the kitchen right inside. Sirius gave Aquila a small nod of encouragement, and she opened the door. She breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that it was empty. She turned towards Sirius and grinned, laughing silently. Sirius, on the other hand, breathed in relief, running his hand through his hair again. Silently the two continued on, hurriedly making their way back to the Gryffindor common room. Only when they were safe inside did they separate, Aquila clutching the bag tightly while Sirius paced. They both suddenly stopped and turned to each other.
"Goodnight, Sirius," Aquila said as she made her way to the girl's dorm.
"Night, Aquila," Sirius said as he made his way to the boy's dorm.
Remus was tired and grumpy. Last night's full moon was draining, and he was exhausted. All he wanted to do was sit back and relax. Currently, he was sitting in the Hospital Wing, which he had gone to as soon as he transformed back. Madam Pomfrey was having him relax for a bit before he went back to the busy common room. Remus got up and bid Madam Pomfrey a good morning and a thank you. He slumped into himself as soon as he was through the doors. He had gotten into the bad habit of pretending everything was fine when it really wasn't. Remus made his way slowly into the common room, collapsing on the couch when two familiar voices hit his ears.
"Hey, Remus," Sirius greeted, barely containing his excitement.
"Hi, Sirius..." Remus mumbled in response. Sirius frowned but Aquila just held up the bag to remind him of their mission.
"We have something for you!" Aquila said excitedly. At that Remus sat up, trying to hide his exhaustion from his friends.
"Really? What is it?" He asked tiredly. Aquila held out the bag and gestured for Remus to take it.
"We know you transformed last night, so, last night we got you some chocolate because we know how it helps," Aquila said, ignoring the raised eyebrow Remus gave her.
"No, we didn't steal it, we left money," Sirius added, knowing that Remus wouldn't take it if he thought it was stolen. Remus just nodded and pulled out a chocolate frog, smiling at his friends' antics.
"You guys are awesome. Stupid, but awesome," Remus said, opening the package and biting into the chocolate. Sirius grinned and Aquila smiled sheepishly.
"Anything for you, mate," Sirius said, and Aquila nodded.
"Oh, and if Lily asks, I got those last weekend." Aquila added as an afterthought. Remus just laughed and Sirius shook his head.
