Walking into the girl's dorm, Aquila was greeted by Lily who promptly pulled her into the room and shut the door, causing Aquila to jump at the noise.
"Merlin, Lily, are you trying to wake up the whole bloody house?" Aquila asked as she sat on her bed. Lily just rolled her eyes but didn't answer. After a few moments of silence, Aquila looked up to see Lily standing near her bed, hands on her hips. "Uh, whatever it is, I didn't do it," Aquila said quickly, making Lily shake her head.
"I'm sure it wasn't. Anyway, how would you feel about a slumber party?" Lily asked the girl. Aquila only stared back at the red head, thinking she had lost her mind.
"A lumber... party?" Aquila cocked her head to the side. Lily facepalmed.
"Merlin, I forgot you don't know what that is. And it's slumber party, not lumber party. Uh, a slumber party is where you hang out with friends and gossip, eat, play games, and just do fun stuff." Lily quickly explained to her pure-blooded friend. Aquila looked skeptical.
"And where do you suppose we have this... 'slumber party?'" Aquila questioned. Lily just smirked.
"In the common room, of course. And we'll invite James, Remus, Peter, and of course Sirius." Lily winked at Aquila, who pretended not to hear her.
"How do you propose we won't wake the house up?" Aquila said thoughtfully. Lily just smiled.
"Muffliatos," Lily shrugged. Aquila thought for a moment then shrugged.
"Alright. Let me grab Sirius... the boys! Let me grab the boys!" Aquila quickly covered her blushing face while Lily just smirked. Aquila rushed out of the room with a spring in her step while Lily shook her head and got ready.
"Sirius! Get James, Remus, and Peter! Sirius!" Aquila called as she ran down the stairs, tripping right into someone. They crashed to the ground, and Aquila was crushed by someone landing on top of her. Aquila snapped out of her daze only to narrow her eyes at who she had run into.
"Simmons," she growled. Simmons, seemingly unaware of their current position and the attitude of Aquila, smirked.
"Aquila! How lovely to see you again." Simmons pinned her arms down so she couldn't move. Aquila was beyond furious by now. She couldn't reach her wand, but she could still kick. Smirking, she kicked him, and when he released her she reached for her wand.
"Stupefy!" She yelled as he tried getting up. Simmons immediately froze and fell to the ground. Satisfied, Aquila fixed her robes and, sending one more glare to the frozen Simmons, she went back to her search for the Marauders. Walking into the common room, she was more than relieved to see the boys huddled around the fire, talking in hushed voices. They didn't notice her so she snuck up to them and hugged them, taking everyone by surprise.
"What the- Aquila!" Sirius said, smiling when he noticed her. Aquila released the boys and returned Sirius' smile.
"Hey, Sirius. I came to tell you that Lily and I are throwing a lumber party or something tonight. I... we were wondering if you would like to join us." Aquila asked, looking only at Sirius. James and Remus shared a knowing glance, while Peter tried not to smile. Sirius, oblivious to the other's reactions, smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, we'd love to go, wouldn't we guys?" Sirius replied, making Aquila's smile bigger.
"Uh, yeah! Sounds like fun! If Evans is there, I'm there." James said, making everyone groan. Remus only shrugged, and Peter nodded.
"Great! I'll go tell her. See you soon, Sirius!" Aquila waved goodbye and went back upstairs, where Lily was supposedly waiting.
"Lily, great news, they said... Lily?" Aquila asked as she walked in and didn't see anyone. "Lily, are you here? Stop playing games, this isn't funny!" She walked around the room, wand out. She heard a noise and was instantly alert. Walking towards the source of the sound, she found a stupified Lily and one Lucius Malfoy standing over her, wand out.
"How did you get up here?" Aquila demanded with her wand raised. Lucius just laughed.
"I don't believe that's any of your business, Mudblood." He sneered. Aquila tightened the hold on her wand and bit her tongue from revealing anything. Instead, she just scowled.
"I'm not muggleborn!" She said through clenched teeth. Lucius laughed coldly.
"Pathetic, you can't even say the word mudblood. How truly disappointing, you could've done great things. If only you were a pureblood. No matter, it's about time I did something to put you in your place." Lucius said calmly, and Aquila thought hard about how she could alert Sirius and the others. Lucius, seemingly taking his time, walked around Aquila and studied her, making Aquila shiver. If only this man knew the truth, she thought. Lucius, after wasting enough time, raised his wand and spoke his spell.
"Stupefy!" He yelled, sending the blue light towards her. Aquila had good reflexes, but not that good. She didn't send a spell quick enough and hit the floor, frozen. Lucius walked over to her with a smile on his cold face. "I almost feel sorry for you. Almost. Avada Ked-"
"Expelliarmus!" A voice shouted, interrupting Lucius' spell. Lucius' wand was knocked out of his hand, flying into his attackers. Sirius looked at the wand in his hand triumphantly. "That was easier than expected."
"You filthy, pathetic excuses for wizards! Mark my words, you'll regret-" Lucius was interrupted yet again by a livid James.
"Stupefy!" James yelled, promptly knocking the older wizard to the ground. Sirius walked up to Aquila who, after the counter-spell was cast, hugged him tightly, letting the tears fall, while James unfroze Lily, who stood up with her wand raised.
"Who do you think you are, coming up here to get Aquila for revenge?! Well, I have some news for you- she won't fall for it! She's... what happened?" A confused Lily asked. James hugged her tightly, while Lily just stood there awkwardly patting his back. Sirius soothed Aquila by letting her hold him close.
"I-if you g-guys hadn't s-shown up, I don't know what would've h-happened!" Aquila cried, gripping Sirius' robes tightly. Sirius hugged her tightly.
"Don't say that, I'll always be here to save you," Sirius whispered into her ear. Aquila shook her head.
"You're just s-saying that! Y-you can't always be there for m-me..." Aquila started sobbing, and something in Sirius broke. He pulled away and held her tear-soaked face in his hands.
"It takes a lot to get rid of me." He replied cockily, and Aquila gave a ghost of a smile, making Sirius smile. "Look, there's that smile that brightens anyone's day. You should do it more often." Aquila sniffled and wiped her eyes.
"T-thank you, Sirius." She said, and she meant it. Sirius nodded.
"Of course," he said, and they just stood there, holding each other, while James and Lily left to give them some space. And to have their own little moment.
