"Great work today Silver, I'll see you tomorrow" Kenny bids me goodbye with a thick southern accent.

"Thank you, see you tomorrow!" I greet him enthusiastically and start heading out with two cups of Americanos in my hands.

Immediately heading towards the park to meet Ethan my stomach has been tying knots all day at the thought of performing today.

Getting there early is probably a good idea so he can at least listen to my music and to give him a chance to back out and say "I can't stand that, get out"

Soon I reached the spot where Ethan performed yesterday and see his stuff sprawled on the ground as he's just starting to put his stage together.

I walk towards him and extend one of the Americanos in my hand.

"Why hello and thank you" he greets looking sideways at me and takes the cup.

"Hi, this looks complicated" I reply keeping my eyes on the wooden block I sat on trying to figure out which one goes with what.

He laughs lightly and nudges a tiny screw towards me "That'll help" he says as he continued working on the platform.

Then when we finished putting up the make shift stage he reaches for a cloth with "Ethan & Silver" written across it with red paint.

"You like it?" He asks with a grin.

"It's perfect" I gush with a tiny laugh.

"You're so nice, why are you helping a stranger?" I blurt out due to my huge curiosity.

He maintains his grin and then bobs his head to the side.

"You're no stranger; there are no strangers in music and I'd like to think musicians are related by default" he then replies with a serious tone.

A huge grin crept on my face and my chest felt all kinds of happiness by what he said.

In all the cut throat aspirants I came across I've accepted that everyone here will not take their time to help anyone but themselves to get ahead in music.

To meet someone like Ethan is unbelievable.

He just made me reconsider a lot about my current head space and bring me back to the mentality of just making music, not competing.

"You're right. Hey you wanna hear this song I wrote?" I said cheerily.

"Absolutely" he quickly replied.

Strumming the intro he bobs his head to the slow tune.

"Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see
That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about,
And she's got everything that I have to live without.

Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it's so damn funny
That I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night"

He continued listening intently with a smile and I felt so much at ease playing for him and when the song ended his smile grew wider and clapped his hands.

"That was blinding mate!" he exclaims.

I frown in confusion, 'blinding?' I ask myself.

Probably reading into my confusion he chuckles and says "That was great" in between.
