I peer over my shoulder, hoping to get Kyle's attention. I just stare at him, attempting to communicate telepathically. He has to look over at me at some point.
Within seconds, he glances over at me quickly, and I jump in surprise. I immediatly look him straight in the eyes and give him a look of desperation. I cannot have him tell Amy who I really am because I am almost certain that she will instantly remember my name and our little phone call we had about a day ago.
He seems to get the hint because he gives me a slight nod.
"Uh...oh her? She's just...Katie, a customer I am trying to help find a phone."
NIce work, Kyle. Amy looks me over but seems to buy his story, and I couldn't be more relieved. Why would she want to know who I am anyways? Does she not know that this is a public place, and people do come in here on a daily bases?
"Alright, so have you seen him? I have been trying to reach him all morning, but he hasn't returned any of my calls. I really need to talk to him." She stands up tall with her arms crossed across her chest, looking almost threatening...well as threatening as a girl who looks to be about five foot three could be.
"No, I have not seen or talked to him all day," He lies so easily. If I didn't know any better, I would have believed him as well.
Amy just looks at him with a look of annoyance on her face. I can already tell she does not like to be wrong about anything. What a charming trait?
Without another word, she flicks her ombred colored hair off her shoulder and looks straight at me again. It is almost as if she is trying to study me and what I'm about. Can she smell fear or something because right now I am probably stinking up the place. She has that intemidating quality, and let me tell you...she is very intemidating.
"Nice to meet you, Katie," she says softly then makes her way out of the store. The clacking sound of her heels thanfully start to become distant, causing the store to become quiet again.
"Well that was weird." Kyle is the first to speak. "Why does every one want to talk to Asher all of a sudden? Jez. I'm here too people."
He makes me let out a slight chuckle, and I shove his shoulder in a jokingly kind of way when he comes back over to me.
"I'm sorry. I can stay and talk to you if you would like? I have no where else to be, plus I think it would be fun to get to know each other a little more," I give him an offer, wondering if he will actually take it.
"Hmm...as tempting as that sound. I don't get off until two, so I still have another few hours here." He looks at me with an over exaggerated sad face.
"Okay, well I just thought I would try. Oh, can I ask you something though?" I ask as I begin to get out of my chair and push it in under the table.
"Sure...?"
"You seem to know Asher and Amy pretty well, so why did you bring him out last night and set him up with me? You know as hi-"
"I hate her. It's as simple as that. I never have and never will like her. Last night was the first time Asher has actually grown some balls and decided to go out without her for a change, so I was not letting that opportunity go."
Wow. I was not expecting that answer, but from what I saw today, I can tell why he doesn't like her. The two of us were only in the room together for at most five minutes, yet I can already see that Amy is someone who loves to have the control of everything, including the one's around her. She definitely lives in her own world.
"Oh, but he wasn't with her at the party the other night...was she?" I question him. From what I remember, I don't recall seeing her at any point. Plus, Asher and I supposedly had more fun than we should have, and it would be extremely weird for her to have been in the same house.
