My Mr. Darcy

Continuation of Chapter 2

Here is a continuation of Chapter 2. Charlie got out his cell phone, went to his contacts, and scrolled til he got to HERS. Janet. He couldn't wait to hear her voice, but at the same time he was dreading calling because Darcy was not coming on Friday. He didn't want Janet's sister to think Darcy was was a jerk..even though most women who came across him, thought that way. He loved his friend like a brother, but when it came to women, Darcy needed help. From everything Janet had described about her sister, she seemed like a very down-to-earth young woman. If only Darcy could see that for himself. Charlie decided to go ahead and call Janet...might as well get this over with. She answered on the third ring. Ahh she had a nice voice. "Hey Janet! I told you i couldn't wait to talk to you. I really did enjoy our coffee date earlier. Well, not date, but you know what I mean." Oh man, I feel just like a school-boy with a crush on this really cute girl. Geez....I hope she doesn't think I sound stupid!, Charlie thought.

Janet was so glad to see that on her caller ID on her cell phone, that Charlie had called. She had been counting down the minutes and seconds until she heard his voice again! He had the most dreamy voice,and she could tell he was nervous, but that made her all the more attracted to him. "Hi Charlie, I enjoyed our "date" too. I'm counting down the days until Friday! Oh, I was able to talk my sister into going on Friday. Normally, she doesn't do this type of thing, but she and I would do anything for each other. And I say that in the nicest way. She's my best friend, and I'm hers. So, what about your friend Darcy. Is he coming? Please say he is."

Charlie sat down, and his face in his hands. "I tried everything to get him to come on Friday. It's almost like he has vetoed love & marriage completely from his life. He was dealt a bad hand a few years back, but love isn't something you give up on. You search until you find it, and when you do, you count that person as a blessing in your life." Janet was in awe, the more Charlie talked, the more she started to fall in love with him! " There has to be a way to get him to come. Why must men be so difficult sometimes? Not you, of course. We'll think of something. I looked up your friend Darcy online. Wow, he has quite a profile! His own business, money, prestige, and looks! I see that he had a lot to do with Hope For You, the hospital for children who have cancer. The funny thing is, the only picture of him at the hospital was when they cut the ribbon on the day it opened. Why are there no other pictures of him there? I would think that the founder of the hospital would want to be there as often as he can, to visit the children & parents."
