My Mr. Darcy

Chapter 9

(Lizzie)

When Darcy was through talking, Lizzie had tears in her eyes. This wing was named after his wife! No wonder it took him awhile to walk through these doors! She walked over to Darcy, and took his hand."Thank you for sharing all that with me. I confess that the  Darcy that I read and heard about, is not the Darcy who's hand I'm holding at this moment." She was about to go on, when Gracie called out for her. In leaving, she didn't realize that she had left behind her cell phone.

As Darcy watched her go check on Gracie, he couldn't believe that he had opened up like that! He sent Charles a text, asking for his "date's" number. Charles sent a text back with the number, and a message saying, "You have a lot of explaining to do!" Darcy had to laugh.

Being the gentleman that his Aunt Katherine had taught him to be, he dialed the number.Waited for the ring...and then he heard Lizzie's phone ring...he picked it up...and realized he was calling HER number! Darcy's heart started to beat faster...he looked through the sliding glass door at the two women who had, within minutes, slowly started to capture his heart! A smile broadened his face as he realized that he had met them because of Sophie! God had a perfect plan! And Darcy was going to act on it!

"It was just a dream Gracie, just a dream." She pressed a kiss to Gracie's forehead."I'm so glad you are here, Lizzie. And that Mr. Darcy too. He's so nice.Don't you think so too?" Gracie gazed shyly at Lizzie. Lizzie blushed, and said, "Gracie, of course I think he's a nice man." Gracie smiled, and clapped her hands. "Maybe he could really be your prince." "Oh sweetie, I don't know about that . Two people have to fall in love in order to be a prince and princess." "Well, do you love him?" Gracie said matter-of-factly.

Darcy had started to go back in Gracie's room, when her question stopped him. Could Lizzie already be in love with him? Did he want to know her answer? Just as he was about to find out...his phone rang. "Aunt Katherine? Is Everything okay?" "I would say so...since you are at the hospital visiting children! When were you going to tell me? This is a major stepping-stone for you. I mean, I practically raised you and Georgie!" Darcy had to smile and chuckle. He loved his Aunt Kat dearly, but sometimes never got a word in.

"Well, Aunt Kat, I've also met someone special. I'm feeling things I never thought I'd feel again. And we just met yesterday!" There was a pause on the other end of the line.

"This is amazing news!" "Now, Aunt Kat don't..." "Arthur, pack my bags. We have a wedding to plan!"

The phone went silent as Darcy closed his eyes and said, "...rush out here". Now what? Marry Lizzie? Sounded great,but hard to do since his feelings for her had not been revealed! He had to rely on God to do the rest!

After getting Gracie settled back in with another story, she looked out the window, and noticed Darcy had gone. Maybe being here was too much of a memory for him. Or maybe she was not a good hospital date. She went out of Gracie's room, into the atrium. She was lost in thought, when a tall figure bumped into her, and chuckled. She looked up, and found those gorgeous blue eyes! His deep voice said, "I would say we have to stop meeting like this, but I rather like your company!"
