My Mr. Darcy

Chapter 11

(Aunt Kat)

I was so thrilled to not only see my nephew up at the hospital, but also there with a woman! Most people think I'm an old woman set in my ways. I just want my nephew to be happy again. Darcy would be a great catch for any woman, but he needs someone who will truely love him for who he is , and not for his money! As I'm standing here looking at him, and this woman...I wonder if she is the one?

" Aunt Kat, this is Abbigail Elizabeth Manning. A woman who I think that you would like very well."

I could tell Darcy had feelings for her from the expression on his face, and in the next few moments, I knew she was the one. I can't wait to plan the wedding...oh and I can just imagine what their baby will look like! Oh dear, I'm getting way ahead of myself!

(Lizzie)

Okay...so here I am on a "date" with a man who I am quickly falling for, and meeting his aunt? Oh yikes!

I know I'm dreaming, but the man beside me feels very real! Could this be the man I'm supposed to be with for the rest of my life? And why did that thought enter my mind on this first date with him? I need to grab a hold of my thoughts, and stay focused on what this lady is saying.

( Darcy) Of course my Aunt Kat would show up right now, at this moment, having seen the exchange between Elizabeth and I.  So much for arriving next week...i should've known! I love my aunt dearly, after all she has helped raise me...and I have sought her advice on many matters of my life. However, based on her exclamation and  expression, she has Elizabeth and I already married, with children. Not that my mind hasn't gone there; but it shouldn't, seeing as I've only known this woman for only 48 hours. I need to grab hold of my thoughts and attempt to pay attention to what my Aunt Kat is saying.

( Aunt Kat) "It's a pleasure to meet you, Abigail. How is it that you are at the hospital with my nephew? I've tried to get him to come up here on several occasions, and have failed. However, you, someone I don't know, but apparently my nephew knows, has achieved that feat. Interesting."

( Lizzie) Okay Lord..I hope that my response is acceptable for her. Lizzie took a deep breath, "It's nice to meet you as well, Mrs. Katherine. My name is Abigail, but you may call me Elizabeth or Lizzie...all my friends do. I was set up on a blind date last night, unfortunately a little that I have become very close to, needed me here last night. I'm a music therapist, and she's been a frequent patient I have gotten to know over this past year. I bumped into Darcy...umm ....your nephew...twice. It was as we began talking, that I realized, he was my blind date. Gracie, the little girl who I came to see, she is having a tumor removed, and asked Darcy and I to stay...have a slumber party. And so here we are." Maybe I should have left the slumber party bit out? Oh well.

( Darcy) Hopefully Aunt Kat will like her response. Not sure how she will feel about the slumber party but, but oh well. Why was my aunt here early anyway? And why come to the hospital? " Gracie is such a sweet little girl, Aunt Kat. Your heart will melt within a few minutes of meeting...or at least mine did." I squeezed Elizabeth's hand, not realizing I was still holding it. I quickly let go..hoping my sweet, conniving aunt didn't see! She did.

( Aunt Kat) " Oh Darcy..you can hold this girl's hand! I personally think it's fate...your names alone... Elizabeth and Darcy. One of the most famed couples of all time! It's destiny....and God's devine intervention, of course! But, I'll stop talking about that. I know about this little girl Gracie, and her story...its why I'm here. Between the three of us, and the hospital administration....I've been her financial donor."
