My Mr. Darcy: Chapter 2

Okay.....I decided to write another chapter,because even I can't stand the suspense! lol

Chapter 2: It's A Date!

"Lizzie!?" As I came through the door, my sister, Janet, was calling my name in a frantic cry. I rushed through the door, and put my things down. "Janet, is everything okay?" "Oh, Lizzie, you will not believe what kind of day this has turned out to be!" If she only knew what kind of day, this had been for me! "So, Janet, what happened?" "I met this wonderful guy name Charlie, when I was on my lunch break. I was sitting inside, "Java Joe's", when all of a sudden, in walked this tall, brown-haired, green-eyed, man! Oh, Lizzie, he could be the one! He and I have a date planned for this Friday. Only, there's one little catch..." I rolled my eyes at Janet, figuring that whatever it was, it involved...you guessed it..me. Being the nice, kind, loving sister that I am I said, " Okay, what do you want me to do?" "Well, Charlie's friend is in town, and Charlie thought it might be fun if we all went out. It's just this once, and you will never have to see this guy again. Pleeeeaassee?" I walked over to Janet, and said, " If I was the reason why, you and Charlie never had a 'happily ever after', I would feel terrible. Plus, we are SFL (sisters for life), and I would do anything for you." Janet squealed, and gave me a hug.

As I went upstairs to the town home that Janet and I shared, I opened my bedroom door, set my stuff down, and plopped down on the bed. As I had recapped my day....spilling my latte on my brand new skirt, my boss assigning my new project to my nemesis, then bumping into the rudest man I had ever met on my way to teach music to children at Hope for You (our chidlren's cancer hospital). I'm a music therapist, and love working with children. Sometimes going into the hospital, a feeling of sadness comes over me, but after visitng with the children there, I find that they light up my life.

So, now, I have agreed to double date with my sister, Charlie, and Mr. Mystery Date. I wonder if this man could be my Mr. Darcy.

"Darcy, my man, how was your day?" Darcy responded with sarcasm, "Fine Dear!"

"That bad of a day, huh?"

"Well, let's see, I was late to my meeting this morning. I would have been on time, but some klutz of a woman, tripped and fell right in front of me, causing me to fall and loose papers. Luckily enoough, her latte spilled on her and not me! Thank goodness for that! She really should've been more organized! Anyway, while at the meeting, I got a phone call from my aunt Kathy....ugh! She's pressuring me to marry again, and you know my thoughts on marriage and dating!" Charlie gulped, and said,"Yeah man, I know your thoughts on those subjects. Speaking of dating, while I was on my lunch break, I went to Java Joes, and there she was, blond & beautiful! Her name is Janet, and we have a date on Friday."

I could not believe that my friend Charlie had succombed to the world of dating! I was going to have to put a stop to this. "Charlie, I thought you and I were going to grab a drink and catch the Cowboy game? And need I remind you, that every woman out there will love you for awhile, and then trade you in for a brand new version. I thought you had learned something from my own personal life."

"Come on, Darcy, not all women are like Jackie. You have to quit thinking like that, and give love a chance...again. I feel a connection with Janet. You know, like "love at first sight". I know that's crazy, but I feel like she could be someone special. Like I said, we made a date for Friday night, and I know that you just got into town....so, I thought, that you might like to join us." Charlie looked at me with this sly look he's always had since I've known him. "And be a third wheel? No thanks. And if you are going to say that she has a cute friend ot sister that you want me to meet....double no thanks!"

CHARLIE'S POV

I've known Darcy since we were kids. Trying to get Darcy to go on this date is going to be harder than I thought! In my opionion, he is a stubborn, stuck up, man....with really good qualities, if he would only let those surface every once in awhile! I know that love will find him one day, and it will totally knock him off his feet...God bless the poor woman who finally ends up with him! Now, how to get him to go on this double date on Friday! I have 3 days to convince him...YIKES!
