Chapter 7: Car Drive

After a few attempts I managed to drive a short while without crashing. We decided I would be driving. One summer, at a road in the forest where there is only one car a day, I was sotting behind the steering wheel and trying to drive. My dad was teaching but it didn't go that well. I almost flipped the car. After that, my dad didn't let me drive anymore.

The memory made me sad. I pulled myself together, we didn't have time for crying. We needed to act fast.

It took a long time at first to figure out how to start the car and drive forward. Now, the problem was just that I wasn't good at driving, turning and dodging obstacles. Not to mention staying awake.

The farther we went, the less obstacles were on the road. Unfortunately, the roads weren't made as good as the ones closer to the city. This will be a long ride.

I was pretty tired after driving for about two hours. How did adults manage to keep awake? We had even been for six hours long rides with our parents.

Filippa was looking out the window, probably admiring the landscape. They were long grass fields with a few trees on them. Sometimes we could even see animals. Filippa even saw a moose, which is incredibly rare.

We were just driving through a forest when I saw how little gasoline (fuel?) we had left. I started panicking but I calmed down fast. There was nothing we could. Maybe we could steal a new car if we could find one.

We were very lucky, there was a gasoline station nearby. If only we could make it. And if only someone was there. I don't think we could do anything by ourselves.

We finally pulled up on the station and went out of the car. I hoped someone was there.

The lights were on so maybe we were lucky. Come on, please, please, please someone be in there. I thought. I repeated those words again and again in my head as we approached the building.

Yess! I saw a man inside.

We went inside and the man looked at us when the bell rang. Something was not right. There was something moving in his eyes. Like a river of darkness floating around.

It was probably my imagination so I ignored it. I took some energetic candy, ( you know those energetic candies, white looks like sugar glued together and tastes sweet. Those you can't take before sleep or you will never fall asleep.) It was called something like detroix. I also took a banana, some cookies, juice and a sandwich. We would need that for the long drive.

I went up to the cashier and payed for the things with the money we found at the apartment. I also asked the man if he could show me how to refuel the car. I payed with the fuel and thanked the man. He didn't even ask why two young teenagers were driving a car, which I thought was weird. Maybe he just didn't care what happens at the job, as long as he gets payed.

We also went to the bathroom and We were just finished when I heard a weird noise. It sounded like steel against steel. I looked around just in time to see the man take out two knives and going towards us.

I knew something was wrong with him. No one with a black river in his eyes could be a good person.

A/N: What do you think of this book so far. Maybe I finally managed to have a little action. I know that the book isn't very good, it is my first one but please, vote comment and continue reading *makes puppy dog face*

I also want to thank you for reading this. Again. I never thought I will get this much reads. 130 already, so, thank you all. 😀
