Chapter Thirty: Rise of a Ranger: Part I

*A/N* I did change the timeline a bit for this episode, since this episode revolves a lot around Prince Phillip, I changed the timeline so it would fit for me.

In Zandar, with the Prince and Princess
Third Person's POV
Prince Philip wanted to train to gain some fighting skills so he wouldn't feel that helpless against another monster attack, if it were to happen.  And he also decided to train now that he was friends with the Amber Beach rangers. Princess Alexandra, whom was trained in martial arts, was helping Phillip train. She taught him many different moves that he could use as defensively and offensively. Currently the two of them were sparing. Phillip ducked a punch from Alex and tried to take her feet out from under her but she jumped up to avoid his roundhouse kick. Once Philip was back up to his own hight, he tried to land a punch on Alex, but she caught his fist and twisted his arm behind his back. Alex held him there for a few seconds while he struggled to release himself from her grip. Alex's grip faltered for a second when she let out a yawn. Philip felt her grip loosen and he was able to twist her around so he twisted Alex's arm around her back and their chests were pressed to each other. Alex looked up at Philip with a smile, but another yawn made it's way out. It caused Philip to yawn as well. Alex giggled and Philip smiled down at her. He bent down to peck her lips. "Why are you so tired?" Philip asked, concerned.

"It's nothing." She replied. Philip raised his eyebrow at her and she huffed. Philip let go of Alex, but they didn't really move away from each other. "I've just been tired because I've been staying up to look for cures for Rose." She explained. Philip smiled softly at his girlfriend.

"Get some rest. I'll practice with the robot." Philip reassured Alex and she nodded and pulled completely away from her boyfriend. She walked over to Philip's couch that was in his office and plopped down in it. She put her headphones in and played some music to block out the noise and she set a timer to wake her up soon. Philip walked over to her and threw a blanket over her form and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. Philip started his training once again, once he was sure that Alex fell asleep. Philip turned to his guard and let him guide the robot to continue to train. Philip trained for a good amount of time, before Alex woke up from her power nap. "Very nice moves." Philip told the guard and the guard stopped the attack on the prince.

"Our ranger friends will be very impressed, Phillip." Alex told her boyfriend and got up from his couch. Alex's phone rang and she rushed over to it to pick up the call. Alex talked on the phone for a while and hung up just as Philip's secretary, Margret, came into the room.

"Your Highness, they may have found the fossil you were searching for." She told the prince and he nodded. The crate was set down on a side table and the skull of a pachysaurus was set down gently.

"Thank you." Philip thanked and walked over to the crate. Alex walked over to him. She rested her head on his arm, her cheek pressed to his arm.

"I have to be going now. Rose is begging me to come home so we can spend some time together." Alex explained. Philip smiled at her.

"Alright, but tell Rose that I will start to visit more often." Philip told Alex. She nodded and the two of them shared a goodbye kiss and Alex walked out with her gaurds following her, not knowing that Philip was looking for the grahpite energem. Alex got into her own limo and headed off to the neighboring kingdom of Sprussia.

"Everyone, please leave me." He commanded respectfully to the rest of the people in the room. They nodded and everyone filed out, including the training robot. Philip gently cracked open the skull and pulled out his tools and saw a glimmer right next to the skull of the dinosaur in the rock. "This could be it." Phillip told himself and took his tools and very carefully dug the glimmering gem out of the rock and took out the graphite energem from the rock. "Finally, an energem." He said and remembered what Ivan had told him, about making the kingdom proud when he used the gold energem, when it was first discovered that the brave knight was still alive. "I too shall make the kingdom proud as he looked at the seal of the kingdom that was printed on the wall. "Energize!" He exclaimed, just like when he first saw his ranger friends morph. But when nothing happened, he looked at the gem in confusion. "Unleash the power!" He tried again and saw that nothing happened again. He was left wondering on how to get the energem to bond to him and make him a power ranger.
