Jake left as he hadn't slept in days and left me alone. School was off for the day so no one was in the room. I walked over and picked up my spell book. I opened it and saw a jumble of shapes. Nothing even looked like letters that I could guess. I sighed and put down the book before going to my mirror. I still had the same dress on as the day before and I groaned as I opened the wardrobe and saw a a bright yellow sundress. I sighed and closed the cupboard
I waved my hand over the dress I was wearing but nothing happened. I sighed and stared at the cuff. I watched the shadows as the twisted around within it. I was staring at my magic and it had a sense of beauty to it. But it was no use in a cuff. I went over to my desk and laid my hand down. Taking a seat, I picked up my spell book with my other hand and brought it down hard. The book bounced off and flew back, taking me with it. I fell backwards off the chair and glared at the cuff.
Picking myself up and looked around. There was one person I knew would take my cuff off. My father. So I left the room and tried to remember the directions to his office. My memory was fuzzy because I was upside down last time. I walked into the main hall where everyone was and got some judging stares but I ignored them. I made it to the other side and opened the door. I heard a voice behind me and it stopped me in my tracks.
I felt pressure building at my fingertips and watched as my veins turned black. The swirling shadows in my cuff spun faster as I turned around and glared at Lexi. "Saph! You're okay! I havent seen you since.. well you know. I was so worried!" She said as she ran to me and hugged me.
I pushed her away and put a smile on my face. "I know! We're besties! I wouldnt expect you to feel any different! I mean if I were in your shoes you wouldnt expect me to walk out on you! Or say you were bad luck and say that I had given up on you! Because thats what besties are for" I hugged her back and pulled away with a grin plastered on my face. She had a wary smile on her face.
"Yeah. I guess" she said weakly. She looked like she was about to cry but I didn't care.
"I need to go but I'll see you tonight!" I said smiling as I ran up the stairs to my fathers office laughing. I opened the door and closed it behind me still grinning.
"What made you so happy?" Hook asked as he looked up from a pile of paper.
I smiled "It's nothing really. I need you to do something" I asked with a smile on my face and my best puppy-dog eyes. "Can you take my cuff off?" I asked.
"Willow. I can't. I would get in so much trouble." He stood up from his desk and stood in front of me. He leaned back and sat on the edge. "But you know. I am the founder of this school and what I say goes. Well unless your talking about Pan or that Wendy or as you know her Miss Darling" he laughed and I giggled. He reached out and waved his hook over my cuff. It clattered to the ground and the shadows curled around my wrist and coiled up my arm before retreating back inside. I sighed at the feeling.
"Happy?" He asked me.
"Very" I smiled and he kissed the top of my head. "Go have fun"
I nodded and left the office. I walked down the stairs and back into the main hall. I almost skipped across the hall. Lexi was nowhere to be seen and I smiled. Served her right.
I ran up the stairs to my room and walked in. I laughed as I threw myself down onto my bed. I rolled onto my back and made a shadow whirlwimd above my head. I giggled as it got faster.
"Well, well, well look who showed up" Lexi glowered.
I yelped and the whirlwind disapeared. I sighed and sat up. Summer, Lexi and Ava were sitting on Summer's bed across the room. "What do you want?" I asked as I flopped back onto the bed.
"You could hear me?" Lexi said. Her voice was quiet as if she was trying to hide something.
"Yep. I loved the bit where you called me a 'beacon for bad luck'" I said gesturing with my hands. I dropped my arms onto the bed.
Lexi took a deep breath. "You were awake the whole time and you let us be worried sick! Why would you do that? Can you be that selfish?" She stood up and stormed out of the room.
I bolted upright. "I wasn't awake! I was trapped in my own head and listening to your comments was an added bonus!" I yelled after her.
"How could you? Even I believed you were better than this" Summer said as she left. Ava yawned as she followed. I screamed angrily and pushed my head into the pillow. When I pulled away the pillow was black. I sat up and saw that the duvet and bed frame were also black. I smiled and ran my hand along the now silk sheets. I hate silk. I ran my hand over it again and it changed to a normal duvet cover.
