I went over to the window and stared out. Jasper hissed behind me and stood up. He walked over to me and stood beside me. The sun had came up and I watched people in the town below as they began to go about their daily lives.

"I have things to do for the wedding. You stay in here. Do not leave this room. Got it?" Jasper said. I nodded and he smirked and kissed my cheek before leaving the room. I heard the door close and I turned. Counting for 10 seconds I then went and tried the door. However, he's locked it. I groaned and heard chuckles from outside. And there were guards. Great.

I stomped into my closet and pulled out a short red dress. I pulled it on and smiled as I looked in the mirror and combed my hair. Marks on my neck were beginning to bruise and I sighed. I pulled out a pair of small heeled red shoes and a long velvet cloak. It was jet black and when I pulled the hood up it covered my face. I smiled and left the closet, pulling the hood back down so I could see clearer.

I went to the window and tried to open it. It was locked. I sighed and looked around. I saw a candlestick and smiled as I picked it up. "Here goes nothing" I whispered and threw the candlestick at the window. The glass shattered and I waited for the alarm to be sounded. "Everything alright in there?" Someone shouted through the door.

"Yeah. I just knocked over a vase!" I called back. "I'm fine"

I got no response and let out the breath I was holding. I ran over to the bed and picked up the throw before laying it over the jagged glass at the bottom of the window. I slid myself out onto the windowsill and took a deep breath as I stepped off the edge.

I plummeted down a few floors before landing surprisingly softly in a bush. I pulled myself out and pulled up my hood before running towards the village.

It wasn't far but everytime someone passed by I would hold my breath in fear. No one recognised me though and I was grateful for when I stepped into the market place no one even noticed me. I found that surprising as I stood out quite a bit in my large black cloak.

I looked around for guards before stepping into the crowd. I didnt have any money but being around others brought me a small happiness. I heard shouts and everyone started to scurry away. I looked around nervously when I spotted guards running down. They stepped into the market place and threw Pan down on the floor.

A short man stepped forward, cleared his throat and began reading from a scroll. "This man is Peter Pan. We bring him as a warning. This morning his son Felix Pan was executed for treason. The same fate awaits anyone who disrepects the king or future queen. That is all" the man slunk back into the group of guards as they began to walk away.

A small boy maybe only 8 or 9 ran from the castle and by the time he reached the market he was out of breath. "The.. the... queen... is... missing" he breathed as he doubled over to catch his breath. "His majesty believes she is here"

The guards spun and searched the crowds. I pulled the hood down further over my face. The short man came back. "Anyone who sees her will be rewarded greatly. She is wearing a black cuff and has scars up her forearms" he called out. I quickly hid my arms.

"He's on his way down now" the yound boy added.

Many villagers looked around for me, some saw but stayed quiet. I could hear the sound of hooves on dirt coming closer and I watched as Jasper rode in on a beautiful brown horse. He jumped down and looked around. People cowered under his glare. He drew out his sword and I heard someone whimper in fear.

"Willow? I thought I told you that you couldn't leave" Jasper smirked.

I pulled down my hood and stepped forward. "I thought I told you that it was my birthday and if I wanted to go out I'd go out?" I asked him.

"Willow. Was I not clear enough when I told you to stay in your room?" He glared at me and I smiled stepping forward.

"You can't ground me. You dont get to tell me what to do. You're not my king and in my eyes you're just a coward hiding behind a shiny blade" I said now standing in front of him.

"What makes me a coward? It wasn't me having a breakdown before the sun had even rose" he chuckled.

"You killed my best friend! And you're too afraid to let me at my magic. Afraid that I'm stronger than you" I raised and eyebrow and he laughed.

"Me afraid of you? I dont think so" he smiled.

"Prove it"

His smile faltered. "Take the cuff off me" I smiled at him and held out my wrist. He looked at the cuff and then back at my face. "Do it" I pressed.

He stepped towards me and unlocked the cuff. "Thanks" I said and splayed my hand. A rush of shadows burst from my hand and hit him square in the chest. He flew back and people gasped. He landed a good bit back and skidded to a halt. He laughed as he got up. "Shadows? Remember they're flammable" he laughed. I sent out another wave of shadows and he summonded a flame.

The stream of shadows caught fire and I twisted my wrist and the shadows twisted up into a large whirlwind of flames. I spun it faster and faster. Jasper watched it go round and round until he lifted his hand and water from a nearby stream hit the whirlwind and it went out. I dropped my hand and sighed. "I was just getting started!" I stomped my foot and he laughed.

I felt strong hands grip my arms and I groaned. "Really Jasper. Let me guess. You'll lock me in my room until the wedding so I can't do any damage" I said as I felt myself being pushed forward into his grasp.

"No. I'm going to let you go free and if you try anything funny Caelan dies. Got it?" He hissed. "I only need one person to blackmail you. I have 2 so dont think that they're not disposable. Even if they both die I have your old friends and family not far away" he smirked. "So I suggest you do everything I tell you to do if you want to keep them alive"

I stomped my foot again. I was beat. He chuckled and got up on his horse. He pulled me up after him. "If anyone sees her down here again please tell one of the guards and she can be escorted back to the castle" he smiled and the horse began to gallop back to the castle. I looked down at the ground moving so quickly beneath the horses hooves.

Before long we were back at the castle. I jumped off the horse and stormed back into the castle. Jasper followed close behind. I ran up the stairs and into my room. "You aren't sleeping in here tonight" I said as I slammed the door shut.

"It's my room aswell!" He called back.

I laughed. "Not anymore!"
