Chapter 30

A.N. Back in Willow's POV

I gripped Caelan's clammy hand in mine and bit my lip nervously. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze and I wasn't sure if it was for my benefit or his.

His face was hard but I could still see the scared little boy hiding behind his expression. "I want to help!" Victoria shouted and I turned to see her pushing past her father to get to us.

"Okay. But can we get going? I don't know if my nerves can handle any more suspense" Ethan said his voice shaking.

Caelan chuckled. "Let's go then" he said and I stepped forward even though I wanted to run and cry in a corner somewhere. I pushed open the doors and froze as I saw what awaited us at the gates.

Jasper stood in front of an army of guards. He smiled as he watched us file out in front of him. I swallowed hard and relaxed as I let shadows curl up around my arm. I hadn't let them out since the incident in the village and it felt good. "Kitten" Jasper said smiling. "I've come to take you home"

"To where? I don't have a home. You made sure of that" I hissed at him.

"Kitten" he seemed hurt by my comment. "Of course you have a home. At the castle with me. You're my queen"

"I'll never be your queen. Ever" I said shaking my head.

"Then war will break out and it will all be your fault because you were stubborn. How about that Kitten?" Jasper glared at me and I shrunk back.

He smirked and reached behind him. He pulled out a small figure with a black bag over their head. They would be completely unrecognisable if it wasnt for the red curls falling out from the bottom.

"Saph" Ethan said and stepped forward.

"Not yet" Jasper said yanking Saph back. She began shouting from beneath the bag and he groaned as he pulled it off her head. She grinned as he glared at her. She seemed untouched but recently I learned that not all is as it looks.

"What do you really want Jasper?" I asked stepping forward.

"I want you to see my way. I want you to come be my queen willingly" he pleaded.

I sighed. "It's not going to happen Jasper. I think you know that"

He frowned at me before relaxing. I cocked my head to one side as I studied his calm expression.

A wave of dizziness came over me and I stumbled. I caught myself before I hit the ground and straightened up. I looked up and saw a familiar face instead of Jasper. "Felix" I said almost whispering.

I stepped towards him and heard shouts from behind me. I ignored them and reached out to touch his face. He smiled at me and I felt my eyes well up. "I thought you were dead" I said as I cupped his cheek.

He grabbed my wrist and I frowned. Through blurry vision I saw his face flicker and turn into Jasper. I pulled my hand back but he had a good hold on it. "Let me go" I said desperately. I wouldn't let myself be taken by him again.

"I don't want to hold you against your will. I can let you see him whenever you like" he said pleading.

"But it's not him! It's you! In my head! You killed him Jasper and I can't ever forgive you for that" I said. Warm tears fell down my cheeks.

"Willow... Run!" Saph shouted. Jasper looked over my shoulder and shoved me to the ground. I hit the ground hard and felt my head connect with the floor. I groaned and rolled onto my back.

I opened my eyes to see Jasper running into the stables. Robin Hood close behind. I turned my head and saw Red holding my friends back. Ethan held on to Saph so tight I thought she would break but she looked just as scared as the others.

Caelan ran at me but Red shoved him back and Jake held him. I pushed myself up off the ground and felt the world spinning. I put a hand to my head and tried to get up when a weight pushed me back down and something cold was held to my neck.

Victoria stared down at me with hatred in her eyes. "I don't care who you are. I don't if you just did it by accident or not but you put lives in danger and you deserve to be punished" she pushed the cold thing against my neck again and I whimpered.

"Please. Victoria. Don't do this" I begged her.

"Victoria! This isn't you!" Caelan shouted. "I know you!"

I stared at the girl and frowned. She did look familiar.

"Shut up Caelan!" She shouted. I flinched and felt the cold thing press deeper into my neck. I was scared to talk.

Her hands were shaking and I took advantage of that. I grabbed her wrist and rolled away. A knife fell from her grip and I glared at her as I pinned her beneath me. "You were going to slit my throat?" I said shocked.

"You were going to kill hundreds" she hissed and got above me. I kicked at her and she pinned my legs.

Suddenly everything went dark. "What?" I shouted and heard Victoria chuckle. "Your ability is to do with senses. Now I remember you" I groaned and tried to listen for her. I couldn't hear her as she punched me in the face. Repeatedly.

I flailed with my hands until I caught hold of something. I pushed it away from me and heard a squeal as she rolled away. I jumped to my feet and spun as I tried to figure out where she was. She jumped at me and I screamed as a wave of shadows poured from my hands and hit her square in the chest.

She screamed and then there was a thud before silence. My sight began to come back gradually and I was able to see what I'd done.

Victoria lay at the castle wall. She looked broken and even from a distance I knew she was dead. I'd killed her.

An arrow flew past my head and I saw Red aiming again. My eyes widened and I began to run towards the stables. Another arrow flew past and grazed my arm. I screamed and took cover behind the stable doors.

My hands were shaking and my breathing was ragged. I looked up and saw Robin and Jasper rolling around fighting. Jasper kicked Robin off and got up. He saw me and stopped.

The door behind me swung open and I was knocked to the floor once again. I shot my hand up and shadows knocked Red back. I turned to Robin and did the same to him. His head hit the wall and he crumpled to the ground. Jasper looked down at him. "Unconcious"

I turned to Red and nodded. "Same here" I walked out of the stable and was immediately engulfed by Caelan's arms. He wrapped me in a hug as if he was trying to hide me from the world.

"It's okay" He said. "It'll all be okay"
