Around me, everything continued. Time didn’t stop. The world didn’t end. But I was on pause. I didn’t move, of blink of breath. I couldn’t believe it. I simply couldn’t believe it. My mind went blank with shock. After what I had just seen everything became clear. I understood every single thing that had happened. I understood Unseen.
Unseen was not upset because he had to kill Blake. Unseen was upset became he was Blake.
I didn’t know how to react, and as Dallas came to understand he stared in amazement and understanding as well, rooted to the spot and too shocked to say anything.
The bullet had travelled right through Unseen’s head, through his twisted evil brain, and he was dead before his body crumpled to the floor in a small bloody pile.
“Oh… m-my god,” Dallas said slowly, transfixed at the body that was slowly bleeding out on the bedroom floor. “So he’s…”
“…Blake,” I finished for his. The words I spoke sounded foreign to me. How could Blake be the one that murdered me, my brother, Ember, Drew and Dallas? He was a nice kid. I realised that Unseen had very pale skin and black hair, and if I had been more observant maybe I would have made the connection between him and Blake. I had it in my mind though that my kidnapper was pure evil, and Blake didn’t come across as evil to me. He was just a minute little friend of mine who seemed to always be there to help.
“What do we do?” Dallas muttered out of the corner of his mouth, not looking away from Unseen. I painfully shrugged, but before any words could escape my mouth something incredible happened.
Unseen’s… Or should I say Blake’s body twitched, his muscles speaking from within his dead body. His mask was still draped over his face but now I knew who it was I could see Blake clearly just by the wide open eyes.
Three incredibly complicated moment passed before a second dimension Blake was sat beside the dead 1st dimension one. His angry large eyes glared at me and Dallas, making us both melt on the spot.
Silence overtook the room and I couldn’t move. My mind screamed for an answer, an action, something to drag me away from this horrible mess. At this moment reviving sounded like the best solution but I couldn’t just make myself revive. That happens naturally.
“Finally,” Blake announced, as if he was talking to a large audience. “Finally stage one is complete,” he continued, his smile broadening. “I finally have all 6 of the forbidden children in the place where they can be destroyed. I have waited years for this. I have lost my mind churning out ideas and resources. But now it’s completed, and your times are up forbidden children!”
“Blond,” Dallas whispered promptly, his finger subtly tapping him back of my hand. “On 3, run…”
I didn’t nod. I didn’t turn around to make eye contact with him, but I very carefully raised my thumb above my hand to signal that I understood.
Dallas’s breath was warm against my ear, and a shiver rolled down my spine.
“1,” he whispered so quietly that I could hardly hear him. Blake hadn’t noticed. He was too busy talking about his further plans.
“Evil doesn’t belong in this pure world,” Blake continued, with a thick gritty voice. “If God wanted an immortal race he would’ve made one when he created the first humans. It is not up to us to decide what the world should be like. That’s the lord’s privilege.”
“2,” Dallas whispered in my ear. I braced myself, tensing every muscle in my body.
“And that’s why none of you can leave this room,” Blake continued. “I have you all now, and you will not go.”
