We walk side by side,
Hands clasped tight.
Like a couple in love,
But officially we’re not.
We’re content with what we have,
Unconcerned with what others think about us.
We’re not one to believe in forever,
Or to spend our whole lives together.
We know that life is fickle,
And that one day our path will split.
We can’t say it won’t hurt or sting,
But we’re prepared to accept it.
