Chapter 1-Niall’s P.O.V./Lucie’s P.O.V.
Lucie’s P.O.V.
My alarm clock beeped loudly and I rolled over to look at it. 4:30 AM. I groaned and pulled a pillow over my head.
“Lucie! Come on! I know you don’t want to go, but you can’t stay here alone all day! Get up!” my dad yelled from the bottom of the stairs. I moaned and dragged myself out of bed. I pulled my hand through my long, straight blonde hair and opened the heavy, dark wood doors of my closet in my new room in London. My dad had just moved me to London from Los Angeles, California, where we were living before. My parents were divorced, and my mom lived with my two little brothers, but I don’t even know where they are anymore. I was born in Ireland, then lived in LA, and now I’m in London, where we’ve lived for about three weeks now. My dad had been commissioned to direct One Direction’s new music video for Up All Night here, and he decided moving here “permanently” might be good for us.
I reached into my closet and pulled out a brightly printed, cropped sweatshirt, black leggings, a gray scarf, sand Ugg boots, and bow earrings. I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and left it down, and didn’t even bother with makeup. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Any sane girl would get dressed up and looking nice if they were meeting One Direction, like I am today. But I’m not. I guess they’re pretty talented, but they get a little too much credit and attention for my taste. I grabbed my phone and jogged downstairs.
“Morning, Dad,” I said, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek while he ate his breakfast. I chose my breakfast and leaned my elbows on the kitchen counter while I ate it.
“Morning, Lucie,” my dad replies with a smile. He grabs his cup of yogurt and stands up. “Ready to head to the set?” He stood up and walked out the door. I picked up my yogurt, followed him out, and climbed into our huge black Range Rover.
After about 20 minutes, we arrived on set. I looked over at the clock, and it was only 5:00 AM. I climbed out of the car.
“Alright, lovely, my trailer is right over there. I have a few last minute things to take care of before everyone arrives, so you can stay in there until we start, since we might need your help with makeup.” My dad winked and I smiled up at him. I wasn’t really that good at makeup, but my dad always kept me around the makeup artists in case they needed me to do touch ups or something.
“Okay Dad. I’ll let you know if someone comes by for you.” I hugged my dad.
“You’re the best, Lucie,” my dad replied as he walked over to one of the assistant directors. I began to slowly walk over to my dad’s trailer. The music video was taking place in several locations, the first of which was in the middle of a street in London. The sun had just risen and I stood in the middle of the street to take a picture of the gorgeous scene. Just as I turned on my phone, I heard footsteps pounding the street behind me.
Niall’s P.O.V.
The boys and I had finally gotten to the first set of our music video shoot for Up All Night. We were to begin in the middle of a street in London with a huge crowd of extras. From there, we would continue to a nightclub, an arena, and some other venues.
“I see the set!” Louis hollered and began to run up the sidewalk as the other boys and I followed. As we approached, I noticed a girl standing in the middle of the street. She was petite and blonde, wearing a top that showed the tiniest bit of her tanned back as she raised her arms to take a picture of the morning sky. I slowed my pounding pace and looked at her. She dropped her arms, looked down at her phone, and smiled to herself. She looked back up at the sky and continued to smile as she turned to look over at me. As her deep gray eyes met mine, she bit her lip and glanced down at her feet as she pushed her hair out of her face with one hand. She looked back at me, and I felt myself smiling stupidly as she waved and began walking in the other direction and entered a trailer.
“Nialler! Come on!” I heard Liam yell. I turned around and jogged to catch up with the boys.
