Chapter Seven: Hearts

Ashley's POV
It's been 3 weeks and there are no suspicious actions by Lika so far. Except that she is suspiciously nice. Especially to Conor. She hasn't said three words to me or the other guys since she was here, but she seems to talk to Conor all the time. Maybe it's because she knows him the longest. But that doesn't mean that she can't make new friends right? I mean we don't bite.

Anyway, I was waiting for Conor to pick me up to go to Starbucks. It's pretty chilly today since it's already mid-fall. So, I decided to wear a plain tank top with some leggings and an oversized cardigan.
I just finished eating lunch when I heard a  knock on the door. It was Conor.

"Hey babe, ready to go?" He asked.

"No, I gotta pee. Wait here in the hallway, be right back." I said before running of to the bathroom.

Conor's POV
Ash just ran off to the bathroom because she has to pee. I laughed thinking how silly she can be sometimes. But that's why I like her.

I'm kinda nervous, because I have a surprise for her today. I used half of my allowance to buy this. I really hope she likes it.

I got snapped out of my thoughts by Ashley's voice saying "Okay all ready, let's go."

We walked outside and I automatically grabbed her hand. We were talking game strategies on our way to Starbucks, since our next tournament is in a month.

When we arrived at Starbucks, Ash went to find us some seats while I was ordering our drinks. Ashley wanted a Mocha Frappuccino and I was feeling a Caramel Macchiato today.

As I was waiting for our drinks to be made, I heard a voice behind me. "Hey Conor! Fancy meeting you here!"

I turned around to see it was Lika.

"Hey Lika! Yeah, gotta have my coffee right?"

"Right, me no coffee, me no workie" she said laughing.

I started laughing too.

"Hey wanna help me improve my gaming? I didn't practice a lot since the lost match against you guys."

"Ah I'm sorry I can't, I'm spending the day with Ashley today." I replied. smiling.

Even talking about her makes me smile.

"Oh okay, another time then." She replied quite disappointed.

I wanted to ask her about it but then I heard "2 coffees for Conor?"
It was the barista calling with our drinks.

"There's my coffee, see you later Lika" I then said.

"Bye, see you at school" she replied.

I grabbed our coffees and started walking to our table. I can't wait to show Ash her surprise.

Ashley's POV
I just found us some seats when I saw Lika walk into the store and got in the line behind Conor. She has been coming to the same places as us a lot lately.  Maybe it's all just coincidence.
I decided that I'd leave it for now.
Their convo was pretty short and I saw Conor walking back to our table already.

~ 15 minutes later ~

"I don't know Con, I don't think elephants are really afraid of mice."

"But why does every comic with elephants in it say they are?" He whined.

"I don't know honey, maybe they just thought it was funny" I started laughing.

"I gotta go to the bathroom, coffee makes me want to pee. Be right back"

I got up and walked towards the bathroom.

Conor's POV
Okay, Ash just went to the bathroom. The perfect time to get the gift ready. I hope she likes it. After taking a few sips of my coffee, I saw Ashley walking back to our table.

"You have a small bladder" I teased.

"Shut up" she replied and playfully slapped me.

"Ouch, that hurt right here" I said putting my hand on my heart dramatically.

She just laughed.

"Anyway, I got something for you" I said excitedly after a while.

"Ahw babe that's really sweet, but what's it for?"

"Just because. I saw this in the store and thought it'd be perfect you." I said and gave her a box topped of with a bow.

Ashley's POV
I opened the box to see the most beautiful heart necklace. There were two hearts, one with little diamonds on it and a smaller one inside the first one.

"Oh my goodness Conor this is soo prettyy, thank you babeeee" I stood up and gave him a long passionate kiss. And squished his face afterwards.

"Here put it on" he said and put the necklace around my neck.

I used my phone screen as a mirror to see how it looked.

"I Love it. And you." I smiled widely.

"Love you too babe" Conor cupped my face and we kissed one more time.

Isn't he the sweetest? Argh I can't get over his cuteness right now. We took a cute selfie where you could see the necklace, all shiny, hanging around my neck. I posted the picture on Instagram captioned "Best boyfriend 👫❤😍".

We spent the rest of the day at Starbucks talking about all kinds of stuff. We saw the sun setting through the windows and leaves falling off the trees. A Fall day spent perfectly.
