Chapter Nine: Trouble...

Ashley's POV
It's game day! We're all gonna go back to Chicago to play the tournament. Since the matches are divided over 3 days, Conor's parents offered to drive us there. I'm really excited to spend some quality time with the gang. And maybe get to know Lika a little better.
Conor was at my house, helping me pack.

"Babe we're going away for 3 days, you don't have to pack for a month" he commented laughing.

"I'm noott" I said. "I don't wanna wear the same outfit for 3 days. Besides, there's this afterparty after the tournament. I don't wanna be underdressed." I said kinda stressed.

"Sweetie you're gonna be fineee" Conor hugged me from behind trying to calm me down. I took a deep breath and calmed down.

"You're right. It's just 3 days." I turned around and pecked his cheek.

"But I'm still taking all this though." I said grinning.

"You can't be convinced" Conor laughed.

"Did you pack already?" I asked back.

"Yeah, there's a bag's ready at the bottom of my stairs at home" he replied while tapping my nose.

"Ah that is very good of you because now you have more time to help me pack some shoes." I replied, batting my eyelashes.

"Of course babe." he said and walked towards my closet. "Do you want heels or flats?"

"Best boyfriend." I thought.

Conor's POV
I finished helping Ash pack. We went downstairs to get some food for on the road. Two-hour drive remember?
Her parents were also in the kitchen so we started talking to them. They asked us what we were planning to do and told us not to do crazy stuff like Wendell when we're there.
Ashley just laughed and promised them that we wouldn't. Not long after that we heard the doorbell ring. It were my parents with the van.
I loaded Ash's stuff in the trunk since I'm such a good boyfriend. We then waited for the rest to arrive since Ash's house was the starting point of the trip.

Mr. & Mrs. Parker invited my parents inside and the four of them started a conversation. It was about grocery shopping, which didn't interest us, so me & Ash went to the living room and watched some tv.

About 15 minutes later the rest arrived and we were ready to go. Wendell, Franklin and Lika put their bags in the trunk and went to sit in the van. Me and Ash said goodbye to her parents and we were on our way.

Ashley's POV
It has been 1,5 hours and we're almost there. I was sitting in between Conor and Lika in the back seat. Conor was fast asleep with his head on my shoulder. I was on my phone, scrolling through Instagram. 
Lika was awake but staring distantly out of the window. I want to talk to her but about what?

"So how's our town treating you?" I started.

"It's good, pretty hard somewhere since I don't know a lot of people. But at least I know Conor.. And you guys now." She quickly added.

For the last half hour of the trip we talked about make-up routines and hair products. It was fun but of course the guys slept through all of it.

We arrived at the hotel at noon. We checked in and went to our rooms. There were 2 rooms: one for Conor's parents and one for the gang. There's going to be a boys' and girls' side though.

I discovered that there were 2 bathrooms. That made my week: not having to share a bathroom with those messy guys (and some privacy for us girls).
We unpacked our bags a little bit and got comfortable.

"Omg guys you gotta see this video" Lika suddenly said. She walked over to Wendell and Franklin, completely ignoring us. Conor and I exchanged a comfused look. The three of them started cracking up.

"Uhm guys, me and Ash are gonna grab some Starbucks, we'll be right back."

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Wendell waved without looking our way.

I was standing there, still confused, until Conor pulled me out of the room.

Conor's POV
Ash just looked so confused. So was I. She just stood there and I knew I had to get us out of there.

"This is weird." I said once we were standing in the hallway.

"I knooww what's going on? Since when are they such good friends?"

"And where? How? I have so many questions." I replied, still confused.

"I don't know and I don't wanna think about it now. And now that we're out, we might as well go on a mini-date." Ash smiled and put her arms around my neck. I put my arms around her waist and smiled back.

"Okay, let's go." I said and pecked her nose. She giggled, grabbed my hand and we walked towards the elevator.

We stayed at Starbucks till 4:30pm before we headed back to the hotel. When we came back the guys and Lika were chilling in the lobby. They were all on their phones.

"Hey guys, ready for the match?"

"Yeah, Let's go." Wendell said.

We took the elevator to the 10th floor for the match. Yes they rented a whole floor for the tournament! Crazy right?
The first match was with our full team. After that we got the 2 vs 2 and then the one-on-one. The team that wins the most matches gets to co-design a video game.

"Okay guys, huddle up" I said and we formed a circle. "We got this."

"Yeah" Ash added. "I know things have been a little tensed lately but we can do this, as a team. Okay?"

We all nodded and got on the platform. We played our butts off for half an hour, with occasional death stares from our opponents. Lika was on the sidelines cheering us on (well mostly Wendell and Franklin).
The competition was tuff, but we won!
I hugged Ashley and high-fived the other guys.

"Yes we won! Only two more matches to go guys, we can do this!"

"Yeah about that.." Wendell started.

"We're not gonna be there for the other two matches..." Franklin said.

Okay guys I have some annoucements:
1) I decided that this whole drama thing is going to unfold in 3 parts, all titled with "Trouble". (So in the chapters 8, 9 & 10) 

2) I am going to let you decide what the outcome will be of all this drama! Options will come after the third part of "Trouble" is out, which is somewhere next week. But you can also share your ideas now, in the comments of this chapter.
