The Past Always Comes Back

Skylar pov

When Dean and I get to the pack house he goes to his office for his meeting. I decide to walk around the pack house and out in the back garden. While walking by some tree's I notice a letter stuck to one and go to read it.

Summer

I know you think you are free just because you escaped my son, but know that I will come to collect what is mine and bring you back to my son. And if along the way people get hurt, well that's your fault. See you, your mom and Skylar soon.

After reading the note I start to cry. "Hey don't cry." Some dude says as he walks over to me and wraps his arms around me, ignoring the fact that some stranger is hugging me I just stay there and cry. I can't believe that Alex is coming for me. My wolf starts to get angry that this guy is touching us and I can't tell that something is making her pace in the back of my mind. So, I let go of the guy and take a couple steps back.

"Sorry about your shirt." I say and he shrugs.

"Hey it's alright." He says taking a step closer because I'm still crying.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A voice says one that makes me weak at the knees. I look up at the new person and I end up looking right into the brightest blue eyes that I have ever seen.

"Mate." I say.

"Sorry Jarod." The guy from before says before backing away leaving me alone with Jarod. I turn back around only to end up with him not even two feet away. He reaches out and I flinch away thinking he was going to hit me but all he does is wipe the tears away.

"What is your name mate?" He asks.

"Skylar." I reply after a moment because I was lost in his eyes.

"Please tell me why you were crying." He asks very quietly. I take a deep breath and then show him the note. As he is reading it I can see his eyes darken and I take a step back again but I don't go too far. "I'm not going to let that happen." He says as he grabs my hand and pulls me back towards the house.

"Wh..Where are we going?" I ask as I try to stop crying, not only am I and my family in danger but both packs.

"We have to show the alpha." He says as he leads me up the stairs. When we reach the room he doesn't even knock he just barges in.

"Ever heard of knocking?" Dean grows not looking up from the paper he is reading.

"You know I never knock, anyway this is important, not only is my mate in trouble but so is the Luna." Jarod says which just makes Dean growl. He stands from his chair flipping it over in the process.

"What?" he growls angry with his wolf in control Jarod pulls me behind him and grows back.

"Calm down." Jarod says and they both just stand there growling at each other. I roll my eyes at the boys and walk around Jarod and towards Dean. "Skylar get back; he isn't in control."

"Relax Jarod he won't hurt me." I say as I take my final step towards Dean. I grab his face between my hands and make him look at me.

"Skylar." Jarod growls again.

"Dean you need to calm down. Think of Summer, Kenzie, Becca, Toby and Peter. Think of your kids and mate." I say and I see him calm down before his eyes go back to normal.

"Sorry guys now what do you mean Summer is in trouble."

"Skylar found this note in the garden." Jarod says handing Dean the note and then pulling me back into his arms. I can feel that he is a little bit stiff meaning he is on edge knowing that his mate is in trouble. It makes it harder knowing that he just found me.
