With a loud gasp you shot up, breathing heavily as you nearly knocked over Jeff' s body. Your hands were quickly tracing over your own body as you would do when you've had a nightmare. When you realized that you were lying in a bed, in Jeff' s familiar room... You began to relax a little.

You could feel your heart pumping at its fullest, while your breathing was heavy, fast and squeaky. Your throat felt extremely dry and you had to swallow in order to get rid of the nasty itch inside of it.

Your head then turned around a little, facing the impatient and angry face of Jeff.

" What the fuck was that?"  You glanced at Jeff, confused as to what he was mentioning. What exactly was going on anyway? Was the whole thing... Were you really... Dreaming? But it felt so real, it felt so... Genuine...

You had never seen that little girl before, yet you could describe her so perfectly. Who in the world was she? Is she real? Or just a fantasy created by your mind? Just someone who was a representation of...

" Hey! Are you fucking listening?"  You felt a hand grabbing your chin roughly as your head was snapped back to look at Jeff. Your eyes were still wide, but when he tightened his grip on your skin you tried to get loose a little.

" I-I don't know."  You answered honestly and somehow this was enough for Jeff. He let go of your skin, still glaring angrily before he turned his back on you.

"You were trashing around like a madman. Not like normally though, what was the dream about?"  It was as if Jeff could see through you, as if he could take a look inside your mind. You hadn't even told him that you had a bad dream and yet he easily came to the conclusion that this nightmare wasn't the same as others.

"I..."  You weren't sure if it was a good idea to tell Jeff the truth but decided that it was the best you could do right now. After all you began to trust him little by little. Not far enough to entrust your life to him but you were taking very slow, very little steps towards it.

" It wa-"

" Hold on, doll. I'm hungry I'll go and get something to eat."  Without facing you he stood up and stomped towards the door. He didn' t even wait for an answer, as if he suddenly came to the conclusion that he was hungry. His back disappeared behind the now closed door and so you were left alone in the cold room.

You gave a soft sigh and let yourself fall back into the bed. You had no idea what that dream was about, what it was supposed to mean. If it even was supposed to mean anything. You had no idea who the little girl was, or why you were seeing her now.

After all these days or weeks or however long you were in here, you hadn't encountered her before... Or did you? No... You would've surely remembered the little girl. She was such a sight... With her rippled, broken dress, her bloodstained hair...

Was she a prisoner too?

Or maybe... She was a killer! A spirit of a child?

You had no idea and couldn't wrap your head around it. You wanted to know who she was and why, after all this time, was calling you now. Maybe she wasn't a real person? Maybe she was someone created in your own mind...

Maybe she was supposed to represent something...

Your very innocence, your very being...

Broken, damaged, abused yet still living. You were always so naïve to think bad things wouldn't happen to you... You were always enjoying your life, sometimes even complaining that it was rather boring... Oh how wrong you were, how stupid you were to be calling such fate onto yourself by saying such things...
