Chapter 24

Y/N'S POV

I stared down the woman I used to call my mother as Lauren scrambled to get dressed. All that could be heard was the rustling of clothes.

"Y/N." My mom nodded.

"Here." Lauren whispered to me as she tried handing me my clothes but I didn't take them. I left my arms at my side as I continued to stare.

"What are you doing here?" I spat. My mood went sour real fucking quick.

"I came to talk." She replied calmly.

"Bullshit."

"Y/N." Lauren whispered again.

"Stay out of this Lauren! I asked what you were doing here? Why the fuck are you here? You made your decision! Stop ruining my life!"

"Y/N just calm down so we can talk like adults." My mom started losing her cool. That makes two of us.

"If I talk to you, can you just fucking leave and stay away?" I snapped. Even though I wasn't excited, she nodded and left the building. I took my clothes out of Lauren's hands and got dressed quickly. I sighed.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you, I just can't deal with this right now." I looked down at the ground. Lauren lifted my head so my eyes met hers.

"Just calm down, okay? You'll be fine. I'm here for you if you need me." I brought Lauren in for a hug before I inhaled deeply. She rubbed my back softly while I buried my face in her neck and nuzzled my nose against it. She giggled a little bit before I pulled away.

"I don't want you to hear us fight so can you just wait in my truck for me? I know it's going to get rough." I whispered, leaning my head against Lauren's. She nodded so I took her hand and lead her outside.

My mom was waiting out there for us. I ushered for Lauren to get into my truck before turning back to the woman before me. "What do you want?"

"I wanted to apologize-"

"Bullshit." I cut her off. "After all this time, now you want to apologize? Yeah right. My life has been a living hell and you just decide to leave me in the middle of it?"

"Y/N look I truly am sorry okay? I wasn't thinking when I left, I was only trying to do what was best for me when I should've been doing what was best for you. It wasn't healthy for me."

"You think it was healthy for me?" I raged, stepping closer to her as she cowered back. "That man has beat me every day swings you left! I couldn't even go to the hospital because he would kill me for telling someone! I had to suffer through this pain by myself with no one there for me! You were supposed to be there! What kind of mother are you to just abandon your kid like that?!"

"Y/N calm down-"

"Do you see this shit?" I pulled up my shirt to show the faint bruises and left over cuts. "He did this to me! You promised you wouldn't let anyone hurt me!"

Tears started falling from my eyes as well as from my mother's eyes. "How do I make it up to you?" She whispered.

"You don't." I spat causing her to let out a choked sob. "You leave again and don't come back."
