The dark is an interesting thing.

Without light, it flourishes. Yet it needs light to be present.

When the heart is dark, it needs light. Right?

Nine dark hearts.

One light.

What could possibly happen?

" Moon!!"

I turn and smile, turning back around and continuing my walk. " Oh come on, I know you saw me," he continues. I laugh, turning to him. " I know, you know I know I saw you, Jackson," I say, letting him walk up to me. " Why do you hate me?" He pouts. I chuckle, flicking his lip.

" Because I love you." " Your actions say otherwise." I laugh, getting on my tiptoe and kissing his cheek. " Ah, jagiya you missed," he says. I shake my head, walking away again. " I never miss, remember?" I shout. " Well this time you did, I want my kiss!!" He yells. I laugh at the stares from the other students.

" I'll see you later!" " Goodbye jagiya!!" I laugh again, getting in my car and driving off campus. I drive to the small town twenty minutes away, getting out my camera as I walk around. I stop to take a few pictures before going into a corner store.

I walk around the store, grabbing some food I'll take back with me to campus. I greet the elderly lady at the counter politely. " Hello, how was your day?" I ask as she rings me up. She looks at me with a shocked expression. " What?" I chuckle a bit. She smiles sincerely at me.

" No one ever asks me how I am," she says. I smile brightly at her. " Well I'm glad I did," I say. She tells me her day was good, handing me my bag of items. I bow to her and walk out the store, saying goodbye. " I'll come by again!" I swear, the door closing. She smiles at me through the window and I walk back to my car smiling.

As I'm driving back to campus, the sun starts to set, throwing extravagant colors on the sky. I immediately stop on the deserted road, getting out my car and climbing on the roof. I capture magnificent pictures, smiling at them approvingly.

I get down, turning back to the sky. The sun is almost gone, leaving a trial of dusty, sparkling, spread out stars. I smile, turning to my door. I scream as I see a person standing behind me in my reflection. I spin around to face them, and he stares at me.

" Oh my god, you scared me!" I exclaim, holding my chest as my racing heart tries to go off track. " I'm so sorry, I thought you were in need of help, I saw your car,..." he says. I nod, smiling. " Um, I'm fine thank you," I say. He nods, suddenly looking at me with brief confusion.

" Is there a problem?" I ask slowly, frowning. " Um no, you just look really, really familiar, it's probably nothing," he says, smiling at me again. I slowly smile, feeling creeped out by him.

" Well, I'm gonna go..." I smile and he nods. " Oh, I didn't get your name," he says. " That's because I didn't give it," I sassily say, rasing an eyebrow. He chuckles.

" Well in case we see each other again, I'm Lay."

I nod. " Bye Lay, I've gotta really go," I say, finally getting in my car. He steps away from my car as I quickly drive off. At the last minute I see him staring after my car.

I shake it off and continue to campus.

I park my car, turning it off and holding my keys. I rub my eyes and grab my bags, getting out ny car and locking it. I walk all the way across the vacant parking lot, stepping into a warm building that holds all girls' dorms.

I walk up three flights of stairs, tired by the time I get to the top. I glare at the 'out of order' sign hanging on the only elevator, walking to my dorm room. I unlock the door and flick on a light. I close the door with my foot and go put away my groceries.

I hear my door open and freeze.

I live in a separate dorm room, by myself.

I silently go over to the sharpener that holds my kitchen knives on the counter, slipping a small but deadly sharp knife out it's place.

I hold it like in all the movies I watch, raised slightly high, just high enough for it to come down into someone's throat if needed.

I walk down the now dark hall, seeing my door ajar. I slowly walk over to the door and slam it closed, locking it. I turn and scream, swinging the knife down. I frantically switch on the light, before feeling my body entire deflate.

"JACKSON WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK I ALMOST KILLED YOU!!!"

Thank God I fucking missed him.

I lower my knife, dropping my head in my other hand. " Jesus Christ Jackson, you scared the fuck out of me," I murmur, walking past him back to the kitchen. I put away my knife, turning to Jackson who looks extremely sorry.

" I'm sorry Moon, I was trying to scare you in a playful way, not "omg I'm gonna get stabbed" way," he says. I smile at him. " Don't worry about it Jackson, you meant well," I say, walking over to him to hug him. He wraps his arms around me, his chin resting on my head.

" I'm really sorry." " I know, and it's okay. Now, I bought some pocky and marble pops, do you wanna watch cuddle and watch movies?" I ask. He smiles down at me, nodding. I smile, getting out his arms and grabbing the snacks I bought.

I get changed in some pajamas, cuddling with him on my couch in front of the TV. We stay up all night, until I lean my head against his shoulder, my eyes drifting shut as I float into a black, dark dreamless slumber.
