Third person's pov:
It was a foggy morning in Beacon Hills. There was a slight chill in the air, but that didn't stop Stiles from wandering onto his balcony in a T-shirt and pyjama bottoms. He draped his arms over the railing as he reflected on his conversation with Lydia that had happened the night before. He still couldn't believe she was pregnant. She would have so much figuring out to do over the next nine months, and although it wasn't his place, he didn't want to miss a single second. He couldn't imagine how Lydia was feeling. It was after 30 minutes of standing there, that a thought came to his mind. A thought that made him hopeful for love with Lydia if it succeeded.

Although Lydia woke up at 6 am, she laid in bed for ages before getting up. She couldn't bring herself to. The conversation with Stiles had been amazing, she really missed him, but she had a lot on her mind and very little time to think about Stiles. After all, she was the one who ended it with him, and the circumstances hadn't changed. She still needed a bit of time to herself, whatever that meant. Even she wasn't sure.
Soon, she was startled by a knock on the door.
"Come in!" She groaned.
The door swung open, revealing a smiling Allison with a plate of pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries on top, along with a glass of orange juice.
"Good morning!" She exclaimed.
Lydia's eyes widened as she sat up. "Is that for me?"
"Oh no, I just thought I'd bring it up to show you." Allison smirked sarcastically.
Lydia rolled her eyes as the plate was placed carefully in her lap. Allison took a seat by her feet and passed her a knife and fork which were previously in her pockets.
Lydia happily took the first bite. "Mmmm. These are amazing!"
"I'm practicing for this little one." Allison beamed, patting her growing tummy.
Lydia's smile faded at the thought of her own baby. She only wished she could be so happy.
"Oh gosh, I'm sorry, Lyds." She sighed.
"No, it's fine. You're allowed to be happy."
"Well, there will be a surprise coming for you tomorrow which could help you feel a bit better." The brunette winked.
"Ooooh what is it?" Lydia asked, stuffing another piece of sweet breakfast into her mouth.
"You'll find out tomorrow."
"Now that's just unfair. You know I hate not knowing."
"Suck it up, buttercup. In the meantime, I scheduled an appointment for you with my Gynaecologist. She's really great, but if your not up to it, I can cancel."
She debated for a moment. "Will you be there?" She felt childish, but this was new territory for her. She wasn't prepared, and she didn't have anyone else to go through this with.
"Of course." Alli grabbed onto her hand.
"Okay then." She nodded in agreement.A few hours later, the sun was setting, and the two friends were on their way to the doctor. Lydia was becoming more, and more anxious with every passing moment.
"She's gonna ask you some questions first. About you, your family history, all that stuff." Allison informed her as if she could sense Lydia's nerves. "Then, she might run some tests, let you know if there's anything to be concerned about. You'll probably have an exam, and all that good stuff, and I'll be there the whole time."
Before she knew it, they were waiting. The door of the exam room was opened, and they were greeted by a dark haired, young doctor.
"Hi, I'm Doctor Reyes. You must be Lydia." She smiled.
"That's me." The strawberry blonde replied, shaking her hand.
"Hi, Allison. How are you feeling?"
"I'm good, thanks."
As Allison had told her, Lydia was asked many questions. She answered all of them easily, and was feeling more at ease until Dr. Reyes asked "So, the father. Any health concerns?"
Lydia held back tears as she gave her answer "um, I uh- I don't think so."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. The father is just... not in the picture. He's in jail for domestic abuse."
"Oh I am so sorry. This next question won't be easy, so I apologize in advance, but I have to ask for the baby's health. Have you ever been abused, could that be a concern?" Lydia could tell that Dr. Reyes was dreading the answer.
"Yeah, I guess. Not too severe, though."
"All right. We'll start our tests now just to be sure."
Dr. Reyes passed her a box of tissues, and Lydia forced a thankful smile.~
After a while, the appointment was finished and Lydia was prescribed some prenatal vitamins.
"I'll see you tomorrow for your ultrasound, Allison." Dr. Reyes reminded her as the girls were leaving.
"I'll be here. Hopefully we'll find out the gender!"
"Hopefully! Have a good night, ladies."~
The next night was a celebration. Scott and Allison had found out that they were having a boy, and they were both ecstatic. The shock of Lydia's pregnancy was wearing off, and she was able to be excited for two of her best friends and their growing family. She hoped that someday in the near future she could be this happy about her own child. It would take much more time though, she was still horrified, and only three people besides herself knew of the baby-- Allison, Scott, and Stiles.
The three friends sat on the grey sofa in the living room, staring at the TV contently. It was around 8 p.m. when they'd decided to watch Mean Girls, despite Scott's protest. They all knew very well that he secretly enjoyed the film as much as Lydia and Allison did. Scott pressed pause on the remote towards the end of the movie to go to the washroom and re-fill the popcorn bowl.
"Alli, when am I gonna find out what the surprise is? Is it that you're having a boy cause I'm really, really happy if it is."
"No, it's not the baby's gender. It's coming really soon, I promise. Before you go to bed."
Lydia groaned. "Why are you so obsessed with surprises?"
"Cause this one is worth the wait. Relax, Ms. Martin."
About an hour later, and still nothing. The movie was over, and they moved onto the first episode of Game of Thrones.
The strawberry blonde let out a large yawn. "I'm exhausted."
"You can't go to sleep! Just wait 20 more minutes, okay?" Allison begged.
So she did. She had literally put a timer on her phone, and there were two minutes left until she gave up waiting. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"Okay, okay! It's time! C'mon, Lydia." Allison exclaimed excitedly, guiding her to the dining table where she was sat in a chair and passed a blindfold. "Put this on."
"What? Why?"
"Just do it! You're so stubborn."
Lydia tied the purple bandana around her head and sat still, a bit nervous and confused.
"Okay, Scott! Let the surprise in." Allison called to her husband.
A couple of moments later, Lydia was instructed to remove her blindfold. She slowly pulled it off her head, and tossed it aside once she was met by a caramel eyed boy.
"Stiles!!" She squealed, throwing her arms around his upper body.
He chuckled a bit, embracing her. "Hey, Lyds." He whispered into her hair, which he mentally noted smelt of citrus.
A wave of emotions overtook her as she stroked his hair, still being held close to him.
"W-what are you doing here?"
"I figured you could use all the support you can get right now."
This made things much more difficult. How would she be able to control her emotions with Stiles living under the same roof as her? She didn't care, she was just happy to see him.•
