Chapter 3

I heard police car patrolling in my neighborhood.

“They’re going to knock in 5 minutes.” He said.

Then I changed into my Pajama’s as fast as I could and messed my hair. To look like I was disturb in my beauty rest.

And he was right there were a knock. I run down and opened the door.

A police officer said “Sorry to disturb you Ma’am, but did you ever saw someone suspicious person in here?” He asked.

“No I haven’t seen any.” I said faking my yawn.

“Thank you Ma’am, but if you ever saw someone suspicious or not from around here please don’t hesitate to call.” He said.

Then he walked to the other house, slowly closed my door – locked it and run up.

I went up and he was gone. My window was fully opened and I looked down and he was there standing and looking at me for a minute then waved. When I heard the police siren on the road I graced at it for a sec then looked back at him and he was gone.

I looked at every direction but I couldn’t see him. It was late and I could feel the tiredness of my body. I closed my window and cleaned up everything. His fragrance was all over my room, I tried to isolate his blood stains and everything, thinking to dispose it to other place.

The bullet was still in my room. I kept on thinking of him. Like I was magnetized to him. Something in him that attracted me. His green-eyes that captured me.

Morning came and still couldn’t believe that last night happened.

I went to the jewelry shop and took the bullet.

“Good morning” I greeted the sales lady.

“Good morning – how may I help you?” she said.

“I want this to be on a necklace with a name embossed to it.” I said and showed the bullet to her. She was looking at me questionably.

“Don’t worry about it I was walking to the park when I saw that I picked it. My name’s Yancy.” I lied to her. Well, she believed me and I want last night to be remembered.

“So will your name be what will be embossed here?” she asked

                “Yes please” I said

“Okay – this will be done in 10 minutes.” She said.

                “Thank you” I told her.

My phone vibrated and came from a private number.

                ‘Thank you – Yancy’

I got nervous and it got on my nerves. How did he even have my number. I looked outside and no one was there.

                I tried to text back

‘Welcome and how’s your arm – Sky’

I didn’t get any reply until the sales lady called me and said “Your necklace is ready.” Handing me the necklace.

“Wow! This is beautiful.” I said

I handed her the cash, wore my necklace and went straight home. 10 minutes’ walk to my house and I knew someone was following me. I walked in busy streets, removed my jacket and when I knew that I’ve lost them I went straight home.

I opened my door and Yancy’s smell was all over the house again. I went straight to the kitchen, drink water and saw a letter on my dining table.

‘Thank you and my arm is fine.  Thank you self-proclaimed hospital.’

                                                                                                                                -Yancy

Where is he? And how is he doing this?

Creeps are crawling to my nerves. I’m supposed to be scared of him. I’m supposed to run but look I’m still in my house waiting for something to happen.

Remember McKenzie, people with guns killed your parents. But he said he kills bad people. I was hoping that he could’ve killed who killed my parents.

It’s already lunch but I couldn’t eat. Butterflies are really storming my stomach. I watched the TV and was looking at the news about yesterday’s shooting 5 people dies with unknown explanation, unknown motif and unknown killer.

Then my phone rung and it was Angelo.

                “I heard you’re having a day-off” he said.

“Yeah – uhh – stomach flu.” I lied

“Are you okay? – you need something?” he asked.

“No – I’m fine Thank you, maybe just some rest.” I said.

“Okay, I’ll call you soon. Bye.” He said and I hanged up.

How can I date more when this Yancy is already in my nerves. I went to my bedroom and planned to sleep until morning so I laid and stared at the ceiling thinking of Yancy.
