Chapter 6
“Who are your parents?” Yancy asked.
“Why?” I asked.
“I need to know Sky – tell me.” He said.
“My mom’s name is Clara Kenzie and my dad is Christopher Sky.” I said and I’m getting confused.
“No way” he said
“Now I’m confused.” I said
“Those two were the 2 best agents I told you Rupert killed – they uncovered his secrets for almost 6 years then they decided to pass it on the agency and retired.” He said
“No my mom was a bank accountant and my dad was an engineer.” I said.
“You have no idea?” he asked
“What?” I said frantically clearing him.
“Tell me how they died.” He said
“I was 8 years old when we were at the pool then we heard a car stopped in front of our house. Then my mom hugged me and then men in black with big guns came and shoot them.” I said
“Exactly” he said
“I am there case holder McKenzie and there work were handed to me.” He added.
“What? – they’re not agents.” I shouted.
“Tell me then why they were gunned down in front of you.” He said
Then he held my shoulder and said “Come on I’ll show you.”
Not finishing my food. We already checked out.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“To your parents’ house.” He said
“No! Everything is sold – the state sold it.” I said.
“Just wait till you see this.” He said.
We drove for almost an hour and went inside a forest and the road was covered with brown leaves.
“Were here.” He said and both got out of the car.
“What is this place?” I asked him as I gazed into a two – level mansion.
“Come – I’ll show you” he said
We went inside the house and everything was covered with white cloth. I held Yancy’s hand and said “It’s okay. No one’s here.”
I went to fireplace and I saw my pictures with my mom and dad. I can’t believe everything. For almost 13 years I thought nothing of them was left for me – neither pictures.
