Chapter 02

Ariana's pov( point of view)

I was off today so I decided to go to the park and paint, I painted a blossom tree there was a black little girl sitting under it she looked about 6 she was reading I added her in too "maybe I'll give it to her" I thought talking to myself. I looked around for  her mother, but there weren't any parents in sight which was weird since there was a group of children running around so I sighed and decided to give it to her directly.

"Excuse me miss, where is your parent?" I asked in a low voice not wanting to scare her " My mama isn't here I walk here by myself mama says I don't need her" I sighed "well I was painting and I kinda painted you so I would like to give it to you, if that is ok?" I asked crouching down to her level while Holding the painting up to show her "oh my gosh it's beautiful " she gasped looking at it "here you can have it you seemed lonely and I don't think you should really be out at the park without a parent " I said looking around once more for her mother but once again nothing in sight

"She has a lot of work, most times she's too tired to have time for me or she's out with her boyfriend" i stared at the small girl before me, hm "well I won't hurt you, And I can take you to get something from the karma cafe." I said to her, I understand she shouldn't trust strangers but I'd rather her trust me than some creep in a white van. "sure but I only have 5 dollars " she said staring at me, I noticed how big her eyes were. I smiled, "that's alright hun, I'm older so I'll always pay don't even worry about it." We then walked back to my car in which my parents got me for my birthday quite a while ago "whoa you have a nice car ma'am" she said adoring my car. "Ahh aha aw thank you and my name is Ariana but you can call me Ari but don't call me ma'am I sound old" I smiled at her, she's a sweet kid, too trusting honestly" I thought to myself. "you have a pretty name my name is rain" she said smiling as she was proud of her name. "Your name is very beautiful," I said to her.  so not to be in your business but why doesn't you mama like you I mean you are so nice and adorable" I said frowning "my mama says I'm a mistake and she would give me up if anyone wanted me she says I'm no good" I frown at her and we pull up at the café I looked at the time and it was about time he he was going to be here I smiled and grabbed her hand she held tight to me and we walked in

"What would you like, rain?" I asked looking at the menu and back to her
" can I get Alfredo chicken and some cookies and a small lemonade " she asked shyly "yep can we get two Alfredo and two cookies, one lemonade and a iced tea " I asked my co worker Angela
"Yep coming right up and who's this ariana?" She asked looking at rain with adoring eyes " this is rain, rain this is Angela my co worker " I said paying for the meal and getting it "hi rain " she said smiling at her " hi" she said shyly looking up to me as if getting permission to talk " ok lets go eat you must be hungry " I said smiling at her " go pick a table while I get napkins and stuff" I said she ran off and I got the napkins when I turned around she was sitting by him having a conversation with him I smiled a little and walked over and sat down quietly not trying to disturb their conversation "Oh Ari this is Stephen I just met him he's so cool, look at his tattoos " I smiled at her and looked at him " his name must be Stephen then, nice " um hello " I said looking at him " hello, sorry if you mind me talking to your daughter " he said "daughter? No no she's my uh friend..?" I said looking at her "she giggled and said " I wish you were my mamma you are awesome better than my real mamma " she said eating her food "thank you rain" I said smiling at her and giving her a goofy face which made her giggle.

"So she's not your daughter sorry you guys look alike" he said sipping his black coffee " hey don't I see you all the time here " he said looking at me " uh yeah I work here haha" I said looking up at him our height were totally different and him sitting so close made my tummy funny  . Weird. " Ari can Stephen come with us to go to that fun place you were talking about" she pleaded giving me puppy dog eyes " if he wants to I don't have a problem with it but he must be busy" I said looking up at Stephen " I'm not busy and sure I'll go" he said I almost fainted what  have I gotten myself into
