Layla Pov:
The winter dance was soon approaching and I didn't have date nor did have the guts to ask anyone. I wanted to go with Benny but he was probably taking Wendy. I was sitting at the table with Mary and Martha when the embarrassing scene happened.
"Layla look I know we haven't got along but I would love to take you to the winter dance?" Phillips asked me
Benny Pov:
I heard Phillips asked Layla to the winter dance but I wasn't upset because I knew she would say no and I knew she wanted to go with me deep down inside.
"Yes Phillips I'll go with you to the winter dance." I heard Layla say
Never in a million years would Phillips have a chance with Layla... why is she doing this too me... my mind drifted off to Wendy.. maybe it was a good idea I stayed with her because Layla seem to move on real quick.
"Benny you okay?" Smalls asked
"Yeah yeah man your sweating and it's the middle of January." Yeah said
"I'm fine guys... I'm okay." I said getting up and throwing my lunch away
Layla Pov:
"Omg girl your going to the winter dance with the captain of the baseball team." Mary said
"I mean he's cute and it all but it's Phillips the one Benny hates." Martha said
"I know... He played me so imma play him.." I said looking in the direction of the guys and Benny was nowhere to be found
"Just how I wanted it to go." I whispered to myself I was happy in the outside but in the inside I was dying because I wanted Benny to ask me so bad but he didn't he rather have Wendy.
