Chapter 19: Blake and Emily's Wedding

My best friend's wedding has arrived and we were all excited about it. Both the ceremony and reception are going to be held at Staples Center, home of the L.A. Clippers and L.A. Lakers and there was going to be 400 people at the wedding. Blake has a lot of friends in the NBA and Em has friends in the music business such as Carrie Underwood, Usher and so on. Em, myself, our flower girls Braya and Melody and her other friends Sherri, Jada (wife of LAC player Chris Paul), Amber Alvarez (girlfriend of LAC player Deandre Jordan) and Ayesha Curry (wife of Steph Curry)and her cousin Maria wrre getting ready for the wedding and the theme was "Love and Basketball." My maid of honor dress was purple, strapless and long with a TARDIS Blue sash around the waist and the bridesmaids dresses were orange. Em's wedding dress was a strapless A line gown with a blingy beaded bodice and she had a cathedral veil with crystals. She looked stunning.

"You look gorgeous sis," I said to her.

"Thanks," she said. We all gave her a group hug, took photos and took a limo to Staples Center. When we got there, we all got in line for the procession and Blake's best man was his brother Taylor who was actually a very sweet guy and Blake looked handsome in his white suit with an orange bow tie. Then the song "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding started playing and we all made our way down the aisle. Then, the song "Two Words" by Lea Salonga started playing and the audience stood up and we watched Em walk down the aisle with her father Jeff. I looked to my left and saw Blake crying tears of joy and I did too. Em was crying too.

"Who gives Emily to be married to Blake?" asked Blake's was Tommy

"Her mother and I," said Jeff and he hugged Em and she gave her bouquet to me and she and Blake held hands and smiled at each other.

"You look beautiful ," he said to her. She blushed.

"Thank you Bae," she said.

"Welcome family and friends to the union of Blake Austin Griffin and Emily Joy Alves," said Tommy. He asked them the question.

"We do," they said in unison.

"Emily and Blake have written their own vows," said Tommy. Blake went first.

"Em, you are definitely my princsss, my beautiful lady and my everything. You make me happy and you do a good job of making me happy after we lose some games. You give me a love that is unmeasurable and I love you so much babe. I'm so blessed to have you as now my wife. I promise to be the best husband to you, to support, love and take care of you. Oh and I promise to not ever do the chicken dance to Low Rider by War anymore. "Everyone including myself laughed at that.

"I love you Emily and I always will," he said. Then it was Em's turn.

"BG babe, I know that I would always tell you that if I hadn't met you, I'd still be living in Sacramento listening to my parents nag on me 24/7. Now that I have, I am so glad that I don't have to hear that anymore. (Looks at her parents) Don't worry guys I still love you. Anyways, thank you BG Babe for being the best man ever to me. You are my Prince Charming to my Snow White, my Romeo to my Juliet and my Fiyero to my Elphaba. You are such an amazing man and father to our beautiful children and I love you very much. I promise to take care of you, to be there for you, to always continue to have their back when the media gets on your ass and to be the best wife to you. I even promise to get my best friend Ali to help you with tour twerking ," she said.

"I told her I would," I said and everyone laughed.

"Anyways, I even promise to give you the best lap dances and to continue to give you the best sex ever. But on a serious note, I love you so much and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in the near future. I love you, " she said. Then they put the rings on their fingers and I said a prayer for them.

"It gives me great pleasure to pronounce you husband and wife. Blake, my son, you may kiss your bride," said Tommy and Blake picked up Em and they both French kissed.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce for the very first time in front of everyone Mr. and Mrs. Blake Griffin ," said Tommy and everyone cheered and we left the ceremony. Then we took wedding photos and then Em, myself and her mom Carlene went to the bathroom to help her into her reception dress which was a sexy mermaid dress with sweetheart neckline and it had lots of going. Then we were all introduced to the crowd at Staples Center. Blake and Em's first dance was a waltz and I helped them with the choreoraphy for it and the song they danced to was "Let's Make Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. After that, we had dinner, dessert and danced the night away. It was a very fun wedding.
