The next morning I woke up smiling as I opened my eyes and remembered where I was. I turned over and saw Luke lying next to me, still sound asleep with his mouth wide open. I chuckled at the sight; his hair was all over the place, he was starting to dribble out of the side of his open mouth and he let out the occasional train-like snore. There was something about his strange sleeping habits that were so attractive. Suddenly, he let out an unusually loud snore, jumped and woke himself up, which obviously made me laugh.

“What the hell was that noise?” he asked, clearly looking very disorientated,

“Err you!!” I replied, still laughing, as he looked even more confused, “you were snoring,” I continued, giving him some details so he could understand.

“Me? I don’t snore!! It must have been you Sky,” and even when I told him I had been aware for ten minutes, he still didn’t seem to believe that it was him. We sat up in bed for a bit talking, before heading out for breakfast. Luke asked how I was finding our little road trip so far, which as you have probably guessed I said was absolutely amazing. In fact, this was an understatement. It was more than absolutely amazing; it was more than any words that I knew or even existed could express. The only sentence that didn’t even half sum it up was,

“I never want it to end.”

“Neither do I gorgeous,” it appeared that Luke felt exactly the same as I did. We were both loving our time together in St Kilda and were looking forward to going out today driving along the coast stopping at lots of random beaches that looked nice. We found a little crepe shop that we stopped in for breakfast. I had mine with strawberries and cinnamon sugar, while Luke had banana and nutella, and we got a massive milkshake to share. Then we got back into the car and headed to the coast road. Once we were on it, we just drove and drove and drove. We had the radio on and were chatting and singing along. We pulled in at a few little coves and beaches along the way but the first time we properly stopped was at Port Phillip Bay. We got out of the car, brought with us our little beach bag, laid a towel out on the sand and sat down. We just sat watching the world go by. We barely spoke to each other; we just sat there, enjoying each other’s company and the peace and quiet. There was barely anyone around, just a few people walking their dogs along the shore, and the occasional cyclist on the path further behind us. All of a sudden, Luke scooped me up in his arms and ran down the beach to the sea front with me. I thought he was going to stop there, but no, I was wrong. He continued running into the sea, both of us fully clothed still.

“Luke!!” I screamed but he continued to run further, this time slightly slower as struggled to pace through the water. “Don’t put me down! I can’t swim!!” This was something I had never had to tell Luke. I didn’t mind him taking me into the sea, in fact there was something quite enjoyable about it, but as I looked back and saw the shoreline becoming further and further away, I began to panic. Luke could feel my body stiffening up in fear, and he stopped exactly where he was.

“Babe, don’t worry, I’ve got you and I’m not going to let you go.” Instantly, my body relaxed and my breathing slowed to normal. I never had any doubt in my safety; I knew Luke would never let anything bad happen to me but just for that split second, as I realised where I was, I panicked. I couldn’t control it. Fear just took over. Luke turned me around so I was facing him and before I could say anything, lent in and kiss me passionately. I wrapped my legs around his waist and ran my fingers through his hair; the fear of being out at sea leaving my body completely. He let his hands slide down my back, stopping just before my bum, and then back up again. For that moment, we both forgot where we were, that there was people around us. We were just consumed into our own little world where nothing or no one else mattered. I felt his tongue swirl around my lips and then slip into my mouth. I smiled. I pulled away, regaining my balance against his body and said,

“I love you Lukey, I really do.” Luke kissed my forehead in response and replied,

“I love you too gorgeous.” God, he made me feel like no one has ever made me feel. Every time he said he loved me I got butterflies. We ran back to shore and collected our stuff, wrapping the beach towel around us, as we now felt extremely cold. We got back in the car and continued to drive further down the coast. We got to Black Rock Pier and decided to pull up and talk a walk down the pier. It wasn’t an active pier, with fairground rides, stools and arcades, it was literally just the basic pier but it was nice to just stand and look out to sea and not have the chaos that comes with the stereotypical pier. We walked to the end and sat on the edge, our legs dangling over the edge. By this time it was gone 3pm so we decided to get some food at a nearby Taco Bell and then decided to start making our way home because we were now over an hour away from Glenroy and we were both shattered.

“I’ve loved doing this Sky, we have to do it again some time,” Luke said over lunch,

“For sure, maybe while we are in London.” It would be so lovely for Luke to see some more of England with me. We could travel down to some of the coastal areas, like Cornwall or Bournemouth and spend some time there, plus it would be the height of summer so chances are the weather would be nice. I told Luke this idea while we were in the car home and he agreed that it was something he really would love to do because the only places he’d visited in England was where the boys had gone on their tour, but they didn’t really get to go around and visit places as they were only in the area of the day and had the show and meet and greets to do.

Heading home the journey was so much more depressing than on the way there. Driving past all the beaches on the opposite side of the road, bringing back all the memories from our trip made it worse. I also knew that my time in Melbourne would be coming to an end soon, I was already half way through my trip and it seriously had flown by! The only positive was that when I was leaving, I wasn’t leaving Luke behind. I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of the holiday with him. He meant the world to me. We got back at about 3:30 and were greeting by hugs from Gina and the boys, and then we were asked how our trip was. Obviously we told them how amazing it was and how lucky we’d been with the weather, the usual. Gina wanted to see some of the photos we had taken, as both Luke and I had dslr cameras and had brought them with us to take some pictures of the beach, although some of each other seemed to slip in there too.

“Aw, it looks lovely! You seemed to have a great time,” Gina said while looking through the pictures,

“Oh it was!” we said in unison.
