Like the previous night, Luke snuck into my room at about midnight and got into bed next to me, only this time it didn’t make me jump. Still half asleep, I instantly moved over and cuddled up into his chest before returning to my deep sleep. We didn’t have to sit up and talk all night every night, but it was so nice to have someone to cuddle up with at night and to keep you warm and comforted. I knew that if I woke up in the night, let it be from a nightmare or just feeling a little bit disorientated, I could feel instantly at ease by his presence next to me, or I could wake up him and get him to comfort me.

We were in no rush to get up the following morning, so we both had a lie in; I seriously needed to catch up on some sleep, seeming as the past two days had taken every ounce of energy out of me. I woke up at about 11am and Luke was already awake, looking down at me and resting his chin on the top of my head.

“Morning beautiful,” he said

“Morning,” I replied and we had a long sleep cuddle before we both dozed off again. It was great not to have to worry about anything and just lie in bed all day long. The only time we left bed that day was to get some food or a drink. We spent the day chatting; planning our road trip properly, checking the map for routes and locations and talking about when exactly we were going to go on it. It was so exciting and something I was looking forward to so much. We decided we were going to go to St Kilda beach, which was only about a 30-minute drive from Glenroy. It was a beautiful sandy beach, with a pier and an amazing view of the city. We were going to find a nice restaurant to go to for dinner and then a hotel to stay in overnight. We also planned to do some things in the city during the following day before taking a drive down the coast, stopping at any little beaches we fancied stopping at, and finding a new hotel to stay in for another night, and then heading home the day after. I couldn’t wait to go and explore a bit more of Melbourne, and more than anything, I couldn’t wait to spend some quality time with Luke. The date was set; the day after tomorrow we were starting our little trip down the coast of Melbourne and it couldn’t come quicker.

The next 24 hours flew by. I spent the next day with my parents and my little brother because after all we had come on a family holiday and so far I had hardly seen them. We viewed a few potential houses, one of which was absolutely beautiful, and then did a bit of sight seeing and tourist things. It was nice to see them enjoying Melbourne so much, especially because before I had felt as if they didn’t really want to move over here as much as I did, but I think it is safe to say that they proved me wrong. I went back to Luke’s house to pack ready for our trip the next day. It was about 7pm by the time I got back to his. Gina, Beau, Luke, Jai, James and Daniel were all sat having dinner when I got in. Gina had given me her spare key so I let myself in. Luke jumped out of his seat when I walked in the room and gave me a hug.

“Hey you! I’ve only been gone for the day!!” I joked. The boys mocked him but he didn’t care.

“Sorry darling, we didn’t know you would be home for dinner or else I would have saved you some,” Gina called from the table.

“Don’t worry Gina, I ate when I was out.” She was such a sweetheart. She was always thinking of everyone else. I joined them at the table and we all chatted while they finished up their food. Once Luke was done, we went upstairs and started to pack a bag for our trip.

“I can’t wait to get away with you for a bit,” Luke smiled and hugged me around the waist.

“I am so excited I can’t even begin to explain!” I said with a massive grin on my face looking like a young child on their birthday that is about to explode with excitement. Luke chuckled at my expression and we continued to help each other pack. We didn’t pack too much as we were only going to be away for two nights, so we had an overnight bag each. Not only could I not wait to spend all this time alone with Luke, without the worry of being interrupted by a member of his family or be laughed at by one of the boys, but I also couldn’t wait to see what Melbourne city was like, what the beaches were like and everything like that! It was so exciting. We planned to head off early in the morning so we could make the most of the time we had, so we didn’t go to bed too late. I was still feeling a little jet lagged but I was slowly starting to overcome it as my body adjusted to the time zone I was in. This made everything so much better because it meant that I wasn’t permanently tired during the day yet wide-awake at night. We got into bed at about 11pm. Luke got into bed next to me and cuddled up onto me. I turned around and kissed the top of his nose.
