Surviving Tomorrow

Chapter III

     Today, I'm going to leave our very own region. From the Philippine Region, I'm going to American Region to make some researches.

     I'm going there through solar-powered plane. Our airport is located in Philippine Government Space Ark (PhSA1). It is huge enough to become an airport.

     About the researches? We will be researching about the weather of the said region. And also we are going to look for any inventions there that can reduce the feeling of very cold weather when Ice Age came. I was moved to the weather researcher group by the order of the president, so I have to leave the life researcher group, and study the weather which is really my profession.

     My destination will be on the First District or the American Government Space Ark (UsSA1). In every regions, each of their space arks would be considered as a district, so every regions has one hundred and fifty districts.

     "Eldon!" I hear a small voice calling my name.

      It is Nathan who calls my name. Running very fast with a back pack.

      "Hey human! Are you also going to somewhere?" I asked.

      "Yeah!" he answered cheerfully.

      "To what region?" I asked

      "Actually, I'm going to travel with you" he replied

      "Really? Why?" I asked for the third time.

      "I don't know. It's the president's order. He wants me to join with you" he said

      What's the plan? Is he planning something?

      "Oh. By the way, where's Andrei? Is he joining with us?" I said

      "Nope. He's joining with the president. They are going to the Russian Region to make some stuffs" he said.

      "Okay. So what? Let's go to the plane?" I suggested.

      "Come on" he said.

      We sat down. I look at Nathan. He's quiet. Seems like he's thinking deeply.

       After making some stuffs and after laying down the grassy area in front of PhSA2 while looking at the beautiful starry sky last night, we talked about the coming Ice Age. Though we are having our rest day, we couldn't prevent talking about our works.

      It is too busy here. I didn't know how hard the work of geographers, astrologers, astronomers and meteorologist is.

     The plane started to fly. As we travel on the sky, I look at the window of the plane. I saw the beauty of the planet. There are so many islands here. I saw the white space arks, different trees and the blue water of the sea.

     After an hour, we made it to our destination. I look again at the window and saw the American Region.

     After landing on the rooftop of UsSA1, we go outside of the plane. The air blows.

     "Oh my coffee, the air is a little bit colder here" Nathan said.

     Yeah. He's right. The cold air penetrates to our sweaters.

     The region provides a room for us. There are some vacant rooms here just like in every region.

     The room is located in the Third District (UsSA3) of American Region. Nathan and I are sharing one room.

     It's okay, because he is not different for me.

     There are four bed rooms in this room. Too many for the two of us. Each bed rooms has a comfort bathroom. There is also a living area and a dining area here plus a kitchen.

     I remember my own apartment in the Earth. Well, past is past. We should never look back especially if there is no good happenings happened there.

     My mobile watch rings. I press the green button and Andrei's holographic image showed.

     "Hello Andrei! How's your trip?" I asked

     "It's fine. How about yours?" he asked

      "We made it here safely. Now we're at the room 8125 of the Third District. Where are you now?" I said

     "We're already here at the Russian Region. President Dan is in his own room at Russian Space Ark 02 (RuSA1), and I'm here in my own room at RuSA2" he replied.

     "Well, hope you feel better there" Nathan said.

     "Thanks Nathan. By the way, our president gave an order. He wants you to go to the First District to meet everyone who invented different gadgets and machineries that can reduce the feeling of cold weather" he said

     "Thanks Andrei! Thank you for reminding us!" I said

     "Bye humans!" he said

      Andrei ended the call.

      I wonder what would happen to our next adventure.
