Surviving Tomorrow

Chapter II

     8:46 PM

      I just finished my work, I'm here at a restaurant at second floor of Philippine Space Ark 02 (PhSA2). Waiting for them.

     "Hey human! How are you?" that voice shocked me. It is familiar. I look behind me and I become surprised.

     "Eldon! Long time no see!" I zip my mouth after shouting, because people look at me. It is so awkward.

     "Sorry" I said.

     "So how are you?" I asked Eldon.

      "Well, I'm fine. It is a busy job for us. Some are studying about the Apollonian System, some are studying Delta's weather, and our group are focusing on life in Delta" said Eldon

     "So, how is it?" I asked

     "Unfortunately, we have never seen any evidences that other living organisms are existing in this planet naturally. We have never seen any living things except plants and microorganisms. And humans from Earth" said he.

     "What about the Ice Age?" I asked.

     "Shh... Quiet! Only DOST, NASA, the Japan Meteorological, Science, Technology and Astrological Department (JMSTAD), PAGASA, and the regional presidents know the coming Ice Age"

     "I know" I said.

      Again, the government is hiding a secret, but unlike in the past, I knew those secrets easily, because I am a part of it.

      "Hey humans!" we hear a voice. It's Andrei

      Really? Do they really need to say hey humans as their greetings?

      "I can't believe it! Andrei you came!" said Eldon. For the second time, people at the restaurant stare at us.

     Eldon made a peace sign.

      "So, how are you?" Eldon said.

       Feels like I already said that earlier.

       "It is a busy job for me. Interviews, medias, blah blah blah... they are all asking me about the president" Andrei said

       "That is what we like on Earth" said Eldon

       "Good thing, Dan is a responsible leader, so he doesn't make issues that you have to explain to the public" I said

       "Yeah. I really like him as our president" Eldon said.

      "By the way, where are we going now?" I asked

      "Why don't we go outside the ark?" Andrei suggested.

      "Let's go humans!" Eldon said.

      "Actually we're aliens in this planet" I said.

      "I know right" said Eldon.

      We go outside the ark and see the scenery we have never seen on Earth.

      "Wow! It is so beautiful! The sky...  I can't believe it!" said Eldon

      The Delta's starry night. The sky is dark, the two moons are shining beautifully, and there are so many bright stars that you can see.

      Andrei took a picture of it using his mobile watch, the upgraded version of watch phone. Less power usage, and has a tiny solar panel on its lace, so it can recharge itself.

      We also use solar panels in our space arks, and even in our appliances and gadgets, so that we do not harm the planet.

      We learned a lot from our past lives on Earth. Sometimes I am missing Earth, but it is too late for us to make regrets.

      "Do you see the brightest star over there?" Eldon pointed the brightest star using his finger.

      "Yeah. What's with that?" I asked

      "That's the red giant from our Solar System!" said Eldon

       "Really?" Andrei took a picture of the star

        I look at it. It is so bright, and bigger than any other stars. It is the brightest star in the sky. It is beautiful.

        I hope we will see more beautiful things in this planet. I know that there are more secrets here that the planet is hiding on us.

      "Seems like you're thinking deeply, don't tell me Nathan you have so many problems again?" Andrei asked

      "Of course not. I feel better here. We already have a peaceful life" I replied

      "Sure?" he asked

      "Yeah" I answered.
