Chapter XII

ELDON

    It's been a day since Andrei and Nathan left us. They are still not coming back. I wonder where they go.

   We are here at a lake near Twentieth District. I decided to join Brix in his work. I still remember his purpose here at American Region. He is working for his second travel magazine.

   The lake is big, and the water is clear. I still can't believe that there are no living creatures here.

   "Did my mind just say that? Rhyme huh?" I said to myself

    Brix continued taking pictures of the lake.

    I am a little bit shocked when he started to stand a tent.

   "Camping?" I asked

   "I was planning. You can go back to our room if you don't like" said Brix

   "Of course I like it. I still want to watch the night sky" I said

   I like camping a lot. I think it's the only thing that makes me feel relaxed.

   "Where do you think they go?" I asked Brix

   "Andrei said they are going back home. Maybe at the Philippine Region?" said Brix

  "Oh my...  Brix you're a genius!" I said

  "Why?" asked he

  "Never mind" I said happily

  They left us here, and they went back to our region? I'm jealous

   I also want to go back there.

   Wait a minute, why do they have to go back there?

   What's Andrei thinking?

   I sighed.

   I know those questions will be answered when they came back.

   Why does it like that? You will not realize that you need them until they were gone.

  Like this one. Those questions will not actually come into my mind when they didn't leave.

  And I will not be like a crazy human here, begging for answers to my questions, when they are here.

   What if I text them?

   I turned on my mobile watch and sent a message to Andrei

  "Why didn't you say that you're going back to the Philippine region?" I texted

   Please make a reply.

   After a minute, my mobile watch vibrated

   It was Andrei who just texted me.

   "Just trust me. You will know the reason why we're here" he replied

   "When will you go back here?" I texted

   "Maybe tomorrow" he instantly replied

   "We will wait for the two of you" I texted

    He didn't reply to my last text. What a great friend.

   My sights came to Brix

   He is grilling steaks. Good thing there are farms at each of space arks. They raise farm animals, root crops, fruits and vegetables. Because of that, we are not hungry.

   I  wonder how smart and intelligent people are.

   They manage to bring themselves, which are the last of human races, and even some animals and plants from Earth to Delta.

   After a few minutes, he finished his job at the grill.  He put the steaks in two plates.

   "I just realized that it's so hard to be a photojournalist" I said

   "Why did you say so?" asked Brix

   "Because, you have to bring that tent, grill, water, foods, clothes and many more just to take pictures of your subjects" I said

   "I don't have to. I just need to bring extra clothes always, and bring a tent if I know that my subjects will last for days" said he

   "The why did you bring that grill?" I asked

   "Because, I was expecting that we will go far from our room, and camping is such a better way not just to relax but also for less effort to go back home late at night" said Brix

    "You have point" I said.

    He smiled.

    That night, as usual, he kept taking pictures of the beautiful horizon. The two moons are shining beautifully.

    Early in the morning, I woke up happily.

    Brix is at my right side, almost covered by blanket. It is so cold last night. I thought it was about to snow.

   I wake up Brix.

   "Brix! Wake up!" I said

   "Hmm..."

   "Brix!" I said

   "Didn't you know that interrupted sleep will help a person to become a psychopath? It also makes him feel depressed, because of the unfinished dream" said Brix

   "Is that true?" I asked

   He didn't answer.

   "Brix! Wake up!" I said

   "Fine. Fine" said he

    He got up. After fixing ourselves, we cleaned our campsite. We folded the tent and packed up.

   "We're ready to go back home" I said

   "Why are you rushing like this?" asked he

   "I texted Andrei yesterday... he said that they might go back here today" I said

   "Come on" Brix ran fast

   "Hey wait for me!" I said while chasing him
