28 TRUTH

"Hyejin..." He called once I got outside the restaurant.

"So.. Dahyun?" I said with my arms crossed, looking at him in despise.

"Look. What you have seen is a misunderstanding. I mean--"

"I knew it. There's this girl named Dahyun who just came back from somewhere just to be reunited with his long time lover named Kim Taehyung. Am I right? I told you, I get it. You don't have to explain." Taehyung stand still without looking at me instead, he looked down and just keep on listening to what I say.

"And I'm telling you, we can now stop what we have right now." I ended up my speech with words that I know I might regret in the end.

He lifted his head as a response and asked me what do I mean.

"Since she's already back, don't you think it's time for us to stop this stupid relationship of ours? It'll be nonsense if we keep this up while she's hoping for you--"

"Shut it! You don't understand me, do you?"

"What more that I don't understand, Taehyung? Tell me."

"Dahyun.. She's the niece of our manager. Ever since we were trainees, our manager has been taking Dahyun with him wherever he goes even in our dorm. It's like we have been friends since we were kids. I am the closest one to her because there's a lot of things that we have in common. Even our manager have talked to me that I should not let go of what Dahyun and I have."

"Then there's this one day that Dahyun stood in front me while I was drinking water after the hours of training. I remembered when she suddenly held out a towel for me. I thought she was just going to give me the towel, but she wiped away my sweat at that time."

"After that, she suddenly asked me if is it possible for us to be together? As in as a real couple.. But trust me, Hyejin. I didn't accept it. I told her that I only see her as my younger sister. I love her but not as what I feel towards you."

He looked at me intensely. Eye-to-eye. His eyes were pleading for me to believe in whatever he is saying.

"Then why did you happen to wait for her? What does that mean?" I asked him, not wasting every second that we have.

"That was a set up. She set me up. She told everyone that I have confessed my love for her and I pleaded to wait for her no matter how long it is to be away from her. I only knew this news when she already fled off to Australia to study there."

"Then why didn't you deny it? Why didn't you protest against it?!"

"She's still a girl, Hyejin. I don't want to hurt her. I treated her as my sister that it hurts me to cause her pain. Please, I need you to understand me." He held both my arms and looked deeply in my eyes, begging. Begging for me to understand what he's gotten into.

"Then what am I? Do you think I wasn't hurt? Seeing MY OWN BOYFRIEND, being held by someone who's basically crazy over him?! That even him didn't bother protect me from getting hurt?!"

"What's happening here?" A girl's voice suddenly butted in. Both of us turned to the direction of where that voice came from, and to our surprise, Dahyun is standing there, together with the boys.

"Dude.. Is she?"

Without any second, Taehyung held my hand and face them.

"Guys. Meet my girlfriend, Lee Hyejin. Hye, these are all my friends. I bet you already know them."

"Now I get it." Joonie blurted out.

"How could you do this to me?! You told me you'll wait for me." Dahyun became hysterical as she's hitting Taehyung.

"We both know the truth, Dahyun." Taehyung only said, letting Dahyun hit him anywhere possible.

"I hate you!" With that, Dahyun ran away and Jimin followed her.

"Such a brat!" Yoongi oppa commented.

"Hyung/Yoongi!" All the men left, except Taehyung, said in chorus.

"What?! I'm just stating the obvious."
