18 WHERE ARE YOU?

"I know it's kinda hard but once you get back to Seoul, will you please forget about me?"

His eyes widened up and let go of my hand.

"What?!!!!"

"I'm sorry. I.. I'm just afraid of the idea of having a long distance relationship. I already told you that I don't wanna be attached with you because you're an idol and I was just a nobody, right?"

"That's nonsense, Hyejin. I'm sorry but I won't do that."

"But.."

"I told you to just let me love you, right? You're the first girl whom I really fell in love with and I'll do everything just to keep this relationship lasts even though we're far away from each other. Distance doesn't matter as long as we love each other, Hyejin-ah."

He looked deeply into my eyes hoping for my response but I just looked down, avoiding his eyes.

"I know. I know. But, can't you see? It's too sudden, Tae. Now, we're together. The next day, we'll be far away from each other. The fact that we don't merely know each other yet, I don't think we could handle this kind of relationship."

"Just.. Trust me, Hyejin. There's no harm on trying. I know that we're gonna encounter different challenges in our relationship but we have to fight against those. Besides, we've only just begun, right?"

I took a deep sigh and just nodded in response.

He sat next to me and pull me closer to him and hug me. I hugged him back and just closed my eyes.

"I love you, Hyejin-ah. Trust me and we'll work this out."

He kissed the top of my head and we both tightened up the hug, cherishing the moment.

If only I could make the time freeze to stop him from leaving..

But I know I can't.

And I should not.

He has to work hard for his future and his family.

And I don't wanna ruin that..

DAY OF DEPARTURE
-Taehyung-

Here we are, at the airport. Waiting for the time of my flight. I'm with my whole family already but Hyejin was nowhere to be seen. I tried contacting her but she didn't answer.

I'm about to go back to her house but mom stopped me.

"Son. Don't worry too much. She's on her way now for sure."

"But, there's less than an hour left, mom."

"Be patient. Maybe she's still thinking if she should go or not because she wants you to leave without hesitations." Dad interrupted.

"What do you mean?" Mom, aunt, and I asked in chorus.

Dad shook his head and took a deep sigh.

"Nevermind."

"All passengers of flight 802, going to Seoul City. Please proceed now to the departure area."

As we all heard that, I looked at them blankly. Hyejin is not yet here.

Where are you?

Does she really want me to forget all about her? But we already have talked about this.

What were you thinking, Hyejin-ah?

I decided to go now and bid them goodbye.

"Bye, oppa! Take good care of yourself there. Don't worry about unni. She'll be fine with us." I rubbed Seohyun's head and smiled at her.

"Jinwoo! Take food care of Seohyun, okay? Be a responsible oppa to her."

"I got it, hyung! Be safe there. We'll miss you."

I hugged the two of them and looked at mom. She showed me her sweetest smile that could take all my worries away.

Few seconds after, I hug mom.

"We love you son. Never forget to keep in touch with us like what you're always doing back then, okay?"

"Ne, eomma. I will surely miss you all."

I'm on my way to the departure area now but she's still not here.

Maybe she doesn't really want to see me go.

I guess this is goodbye..

"KIM TAEHYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNG!"
