After a while of sitting on the bed, eating with Calum, I asked if we could watch TV or something. I had yet to see for myself what was being said about last night. I crawled to the end of the bed, but Calum wouldn't let me go any further.
"Luke would kill me if I actually let you walk," Calum said, rolling his eyes. "He thinks you're fragile or something. I don't know," he turned around. "Just get on."
I laughed a little and stood up on the bed. I put my arms around Calum's neck and wrapped my legs around his torso. He walked to the couch and sat down so we were both on the couch with him sitting in front of me. He moved over next to me, grabbed the remote from the coffee table in front of the couch, and turned the TV on. He flicked through the channels until he found the news. The two anchors were just droning on about something I didn't know or care about.
"Just some guy found in the bay." Calum sighed, tossing the controller on the couch.
My ears began to focus on what they were saying, and I realized I did know and definately cared what they were talking about. The man that crawled out of the bay was one of the men that almost raped me.
"He reported to have seen two white lights," the male anchor reported. "Segin and his friend, Justin L'Antigua were walking along the bay when someone came up behind them and Segin was flung into the bay. He says it happened without even being touched by his attacker. When he surfaced, he witnessed a boy with glowing white eyes elevating L'Antigua. The boy was accompanied by a girl that seemed to push the boy away. The two fled the scene, leaving L'Antigua unconscious on the ground. This isn't the first time someone has been attacked by someone with glowing eyes. If you have any information, please contact the police."
"We'll be right back with News 9 at 3." the woman anchor smiled as the theme played them out.
"That was what happened to me." I breathed, wide-eyed.
"No way," Calum gasped. "But...then...what? The guys said they were alone."
"They were following me." I told him.
Calum's mouth dropped. "Well, shit."
The theme for the news came back on and my attention flashed back to the screen, along with Calum's. I knew that the officer would have to be the lead story, so I paid full attention to what they said. At first, they just talked about some food recalls, two gas station robberies, and then a few "parents, watch your teenager" segments.
"But first," a different woman smiled. "17-year-old Jemma Oulette was seen early this morning around 2am. Officer Michael Wigg pulled over a car that was speeding down the road. When he looked inside, he saw Oulette sitting in the passenger seat. The driver was a boy with bright pink hair. Wigg has been missing since, and there has been no sign of Oulette or the driver. If anyone has information, they're encouraged to call their local police department."

"So what are you going to do?" the man who was apparently named Michael Wigg asked. "Torture me? Kill me? Use me as your slave?"
"Do you have a family, Michael?" I questioned, ignoring everything he asked.
He sighed. "Just my wife."
"No kids?" Ashton asked, sounding kind of disgusted.
"We keep one of the police dogs at our house," Officer Wigg explained. "We thought it wouldn't be safe for a child."
"Do you like your wife?" Mikey wondered.
"I mean, we've been fighting a lot lately-"
"Thanks, Michael." I said, cutting him off.
We always asked questions like these to the people we had as hostages, which we hardly ever had. It was easier to know if they didn't like their families or didn't have one. Sometimes, they did have kids and a loving spouse, and that made it harder for us to kill them. We always felt like terrible people, but it was something that had to be done.
I decided I should go back upstairs and let the others take care of Officer Wigg. I touched Ashton's back as I made my way towards the stairs so he knew I was leaving. I let him know I'd tell Calum to come down before I jogged up the stairs. I made my way through the first and second floors of the house before going to the door at the end of the hall on the second floor. I opened it and stepped into the utility closet, closing the door behind me. I went to the end of the small closet and opened the second door and went up the stairs to the attic. I opened the door at the top of the wooden stairs and saw Calum and Jemma sitting on the couch together watching the news. Calum saw me from the corner of his eye and looked up. Jemma saw him and tilted her head backwards to see who was at the door. She saw me and smiled.
"Hi." she said in a tiny voice.
"Hi." I replied with a smile of my own.
"This has really been such an intellectual conversation, I can't keep up." Calum sighed.
I looked at him with a bored expression. "You're needed downstairs, Sassy."
Calum stretched and groaned before getting off the couch and walking to the door that I was still standing in front of. "So the story of the two assholes has been on the news and so has the missing cop. Just a heads up."
"I've been told." I replied.
"How is Officer Wigg anyway?" Calum wondered, putting a foot out the door.
"Fine," I reported. "No kids and a wife that he fights with."
"That makes it so much easier." he sighed with relief before exiting the room.
After Calum closed the door, I walked over to the couch and sat down where Calum had sat. I put my feet up alongside Jemma's and let my right arm lay over the back of the couch. After I got comfortable, Jemma stood on the couch. She turned and laid back down so she was laying on the left side of my chest with her legs still next to mine, but now going in the same direction. I chuckled at her.
"Comfortable?" I asked.
"Very." she replied.
I moved my arm so it draped over her shoulder and she intertwined her fingers with mine. We sat like that in silence, watching the news. I wondered if she could hear my heartbeat, or even feel it. It was pounding so hard I thought it would explode. I'd never laid with anyone like this before. Hell, I don't think I've ever been this close to anyone physically, unless the guys count. But we were crammed in one tiny closet and that's a story for another time.
"You know," she began, her voice rough from not speaking. She cleared her throat and it came out crystal clear. "I'm not so fragile that I can't walk by myself. Why are you having your friends keep such a close eye on me?"
"I just want to make sure you're okay." I told her.
She took a look around the room. "Well, I'm in the coolest, most cozy bedroom I've ever seen, I'm in the arms of an attractive boy who could kill someone without even touching them, and there are three strong dudes downstairs ready to disembody anyone at any moment," she mused. She laughed a little and looked up at me. "I think I'm okay."
