"Michael, it's-"
"Shut it," he barked at Luke as he stared at me from across the basement. "We need to get to the bottom of this now."
I shrugged, my hands slapping against my bare thighs. "Alright, what do you want me to do?"
I was done denying the fact I had some weird sort of power. What happened only ten minutes ago was more than enough proof that there was something up with me and I would need to learn how to hone in on it and also control it. Michael brought me down to the torture chamber with the other three boys trailing behind us, insisting we get started as soon as possible.
Michael rubbed his hands together. "Okay, so we probably can't get you to do the glowing eyes thing again, but I noticed something in common with the situation with Calum and Luke when you took their memories."
"And?" I wondered when he didn't keep talking.
"You were in contact with them," he stated. "You were touching them in some way. For Luke, you kissed him and for Calum, you tackled him."
"Don't remind me." I muttered.
Michael smiled at the three other boys in the room. "Who's up for being a test dummy?"
Luke gave him an empty stare, Calum looked at him like he was an idiot, and Ashton took a huge step backwards. I let a giggle escape my lips.
"Dude, you're the only one who she hasn't messed with," Ashton told him. "You do it."
Michael looked slightly surprised, but composed himself, walking toward me. "Alright, I will."
"Guys, it's early." Luke reminded them in a tired voice.
Michael ignored him, taking my hands in his and placing them on his face. "Now concentrate on getting inside my mind."
I rolled my eyes, thinking this was no approach to get anything out of me, but I did as I was told. I squeezed my eyes shut and thought of trying to get inside of Mikey's head. But how would I be able to access his memories? I didn't know how I did it, it was just something that happened. This was just silly.
"Think harder." I muttered.
"Do you realize who you're talking to?" Calum snorted.
"This is stupid." Ashton stated.
I dropped my hands with a sigh, looking over at him. "Well excuse me, I don't see you doing anything."
He folded his arms across his chest. "I also noticed similarities between the times you took Luke's and Calum's memories."
"Then why didn't you say anything before?" I questioned.
He shrugged before continuing. "You were emotionally unstable."
I looked away, thinking about it. "Was I?"
"You were on a psycho rampage with Calum," he said, which made me cringe at the memory. "And you were upset with Luke."
"So you want me to try to kill someone and cry before doing this?" I asked sarcastically.
"Can we just do this later?" Luke groaned, running his hands over his face.
"Yeah, I'm out," I told them, running my fingers through my hair as I headed up the stairs. "I'll come back when I'm an emotional wreck."

The next couple days, Michael, Calum, and Ashton kept a close eye on me. Luke wanted to forget about the whole thing because he hated the thought that I would be a "monster" like he was. But the whole situation just made me think of Luke's story: how he ran away from home after attacking his brothers and almost killing his dad. I knew that he regretted it and missed them. I didn't want to go back home, but I knew Luke would if he could.
"Calum," I hummed as he sat in my room with me. He glanced up from the TV to look at me at the other end of the couch. "You know about Luke's family and everything, right? So, has he ever heard from them again?"
Calum sighed, shaking his head sadly. "He waited a couple years to hear from them but nothing ever happened. Then he decided to track them down but he was still too scared to contact them. He doesn't want to hurt them again, especially his mom."
"But he found them?" I asked.
"Yeah, they live a couple hours away in Sydney." he said, nodding his head in whatever direction the Hemmings family lived in.
I toyed with my fingers in my lap. I was afraid to look Calum in they eyes when I asked what I did. "Do you think it would be a bad idea if I went to talk to Luke's mom for him?"
It was silent for a while and I was scared Calum had just looked away and dropped the conversation. I looked up through my eyelashes to see him staring somewhere over my head while he considered it. "Luke's scared she won't accept him back and that she's still afraid of him, but I think if you talked to her first to sort of soften her up and persuade her, I think it would make him feel a lot better."
"Could you take me there?" I asked, my face brightening up.
"You know Luke wouldn't want you leaving the house without him; especially after what happened a few days ago." Calum reminded me.
"Can't you get the others to stall him or something?" I asked, cocking my head as a sweet smile spread across my face. "Have them take him out somewhere. Please, Cal?"
He groaned, rubbing his face with his hand. "Alright, alright. I'll talk to the guys to see if they can get Luke out of the house tomorrow."
I squealed, leaping across the couch to tackle Calum in a hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Yeah, yeah," he muttered, but kissed the top of my head. "Pain in the ass."
