Interviews are Stressful

Although I could not help but notice that when I woke up, I still felt like crap. And, my alarm was not set to go off for another hour.

Ah, the joys of job hunting.

I decided to save myself the hassle later and got up then. Pulling on black slacks, a nice white button up blouse and a pair of kitten heels, I went into the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. Right after I was done, I decided to walk downstairs. After doing so, I saw the back of some strangers head sitting at the kitchen table. I must have made a slight noise because they spun around only to reveal... Natalya?

I walked over to her. "You dyed your hair?" I asked in absolute astonishment. Nat was the kind of girl you did not expect to change a single thing about herself.

She ran her fingers through her hair nervously. "Does it look bad? The lady at the barber shop said I rocked the whole, 'red and blonde scheme'."

I shook my head, grinning. "It looks fabulous." I said in a ditzy manner., trying to be funny. It worked. Not only was she grasping at her sides for air, but I could not stop chuckling. Then, when a moment of sobriety hit, I looked at the time and mentally swore. I had half an hour left, and I had wanted to get there early to make a good impression.

"Hey, Nat. I have to go for a job interview. Do you think you will be ok left alone for a few hours at home? Or do you want me to get the twins back home?" She shook her head.

"I think I can do it. If I feel scared, I will call you on my phone. "I nodded and kissed her forehead before walking out the door.

As I began driving,  I turned on the radio and scrolled through the stations before settling on a rock station playing Five Finger Death Punch. I rocked out on the way to the mall where, hopefully, I was going to find a good job. I made it into the parking lot and checked the time on the dashboard. I had 15 minutes left. I parked, shut off the car and locked it before heading inside. I stepped onto the escalator to the second floor and then began to look around for a Hot Topic. Finally spotting it, I started to lightly jog over, hoping I was still on time. When I had made it inside, I checked the watch I had on. 5 minutes until I was going back for the interview.

I walked to the front desk and waited for someone to call me up. Then, I heard voices shouting at one another from inside the back room. Deciding I was not going to be the curious eavesdropper, I went over to a rack full of Twenty One Pilots merchandise and browsed through it to see if I liked anything.

"I recommend the tank." I whirled around in utter surprise, not expecting anyone to be standing so close to me. The guy standing behind me was tall, 6'3 I would imagine, and was dressed in slacks and a collared white shirt with a vest on stating his name was.. Kevin.

"Are you Cynthia?" His voice was not too deep, but thankfully it was not high pitched either. I nodded in response to his question.

"Follow me, in that case." He began to walk towards the back of the store, but I stopped. He turned around and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Are the people in the back still fighting?" I did not want to deal with drama right now. That was a surefire was to stress me out even more.

He shook his head. "You heard me and Janelle fighting. She wants to be Assistant Manager, but I told her she had to earn her position. She got mad and quit. Hence, you are more than likely to get the job. We were shorthanded even before she left."

I nodded, too nervous to speak. We walked into an office together, he had a seat behind the desk and told me to sit in the front seat.

"I have to go through standard work questions. If they seem too probing, tell me and I can write that down." He looked sincere in that he would try not to embarrass me.
