...to where Frostbite Village sat between the mountain's arms. The herd of goats were being led into a corral by the contingent of knights as Frostbar walked away with another yeti almost as big as him. Daniel waved from up the road, before riding towards a large inn building. A few Anouki led horses away to a stable.
Link walked Epona into the stable himself. He patted the horse on her nose, before beginning to pull her saddle off. An Anouki stablehand walked up to Link, saying, "We can handle your horse."
Epona snorted, and tossed her head. Link replied, "I'd really rather take care of her myself."
The Anouki sneered. "I can handle her, I'm sure."
          "That I doubt."
Link looked up into the rafter where Yore sat preening himself. The hawk opened his wings, before closing them again.
"That horse can only be tamed by once person, across both of their lifetimes. I would not advise it, not after the trials she has faced today."
The Anouki looked back at Link, then at Epona. He shook his head, saying, "I don't believe it, are you really him?" He hurried away to his coworkers, the three gossiping not as quietly as they thought they were as Link went about his business taking care of his horse.
Link closed the stall door. Epona snorted again. Link said, "Be good." She snapped at his finger in response before shaking off and heading for the trough.
He walked into the inn. A cheer went up and Link had to duck to avoid being taken out by a yeti's arm. Daniel welcomed Link over to the bar with him, saying, "You've done a great thing today. You and Bruce, that is." Daniel gestured his iron stein towards Bruce. Bruce nodded, before turning back to his mug. He looked exhausted. Now in the warmth and shelter of a building, Link was sure he looked just as bad.
          "You're drinking now?" Link asked.
Daniel laughed, before pushing one of the tall mugs towards Link. "If only. But thanks to your gift, the yetis have kindly cracked open a barrel of something much better. Stronger too, but in the way you need up here."
Link looked into the mug and saw a thick orange broth in the cup. "Soup?"
"Pumpkin soup," Daniel added. "I think you might have actually had something to do with this particular recipe. Something along those lines, not sure how all that works. If it's true, I have to thank you. Better than the dried food we dragged up here."
Another cheer went up as Link took a sip from his mug. He turned around and saw Frostbar walking in. Freya jumped off the yeti's back and ran across the room to Link. She jumped up on the stool next to him, saying, "Isn't this place amazing? And big? I haven't been here since I was little. Frostbar said he was going to take me to see where I used to live, and—"
Daniel asked, "You aren't the chief's daughter, are you?" Freya grinned, puffing herself up for the recognition. Daniel laughed as he bowed his head. "Well, thank him for the goats. My men were freezing up here. We needed the help getting the locals to open up."
"They aren't all for you," Freya replied. "Some of them are for the people who live here. We need thick coats too. We're not furry like the yetis, but we know how to make thick coats."
"No kidding," Daniel replied, spinning the soup in his cup for a moment. "I grew up in Castle Town. My family went to Port City for the winters. This is freezing for me. I'm glad the last captain at this station left this jacket. Smart man."
