I was at home in bed. I put Mai's orb on my bedside table. I stared at it while crying. Seeing the gold move in the orb was soothing. This became a nightly routine. Not the crying part but staring at the orb. It calmed me down after a hard day and helped me sleep.
No one talked about Mai. EVER. If we did no one would look up for the rest if the day.
Ayako took over Mai's job and became a full-time employee. The only problem was that her tea wasn't as good as Mai's. Mai made her tea with something special. It's the same recipe Ayako uses but it's not the same.
It's been 2 years and everything is somewhat normal, but there was something missing, and everyone knew it.
